The concerned, relevant and allied subjects were approved by the University in compliance with the order of the Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Allahabad in Writ A. No. 368 of 2021. They are given in Annexure I, which the Board of Studies framed in the light of the AICTE Regulations, 2019. For every concerned branch, submission of the mark sheets or transcripts of all semesters with the application form is mandatory, so that the relevant branch can be checked during scrutiny.

Qualifications, experience and other eligibility conditions will be counted as on the last date of submission of the Application Form. The relaxation in the percentage of marks will be given as per the rules of the Government of India. The notice does not mention any experience requirement for the post.

Nationality and Other Conditions

• Applications are invited from Indian Nationals, including Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Cardholders under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act, 1955.
• For applicants with a Madarsa background, a certificate equivalent to High School or Graduation will be considered if it was obtained from a Madaris/Institution recognized by the University.

Pay and Terms

The appointment will be made as Assistant Professor (Contractual) for the academic session 2026-2027. The post is to be filled as per UGC norms. The appointment is purely on a temporary basis and is liable to termination at any time without any notice or assignment of reason. The notice does not mention the pay, allowances or any extension of the term.

How to Apply for AMU Assistant Professor (Contractual)

The application form can be filled only in online mode on the AMU Careers Portal, https://careers.amuonline.ac.in. After submitting the form online, the printed copy must be submitted to the University Polytechnic. Applicants must follow all the instructions in the advertisement and in the User Manual available on the Careers Portal.

1. Fill in the application form online at https://careers.amuonline.ac.in up to 11 November 2026.
2. Pay the non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 500/- only in online mode on the Careers Portal. PwD candidates are exempted if they upload an authentic Disability Certificate on the prescribed proforma with the Application Form.
3. After successful online submission, take a printout of the PDF file of the Application Form on A4 size paper.
4. Sign it and paste a recent front-facing photograph at the designated place on the form.
5. Attach attested copies of all relevant documents, including the mark sheets or transcripts of all semesters.
6. Write the post applied for, the advertisement number and its date on the top-left side of the cover.
7. Submit the complete form by post to the Office of the Principal, University Polytechnic (Boys), Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, on or before 18 November 2026 (Wednesday) by 4:00 pm. The notice also says the printed copy is to be submitted in the Office of the Principal, University Polytechnic, during office hours.

Short-listing and Interview

Meeting the minimum qualifications does not by itself entitle an applicant to an interview call. The University reserves the right to restrict the number of applicants called for interview to a reasonable number on the basis of Rules/Criteria or any other condition it may deem fit. It may constitute a Committee to scrutinize the applications and short-list applicants. Call letters for interview will be sent only to short-listed applicants, and no correspondence will be made with applicants who are not short-listed. The interview is scheduled for 26 November 2026 at 10:00 am at the Dean’s Office, F/o Engg. & Tech. The University reserves the right to have selected applicants examined by an Internal Medical Board.

If the self-attested copies are not enclosed, the employment application form will be summarily rejected.

Important Instructions

• A separate Application Form is to be filled for each post listed under a different serial number of the advertisement.
• Applications received late, without supporting documents (Degrees, Certificates, Mark Sheets, Experience Certificate etc.), or not attested by the Head of the Department, Institution, a Gazetted Officer or self-attested will be summarily rejected. Forms submitted in any other office or after the last date will not be accepted.
• The University will not be responsible for any late receipt or non-receipt of the Application Form.
• Incomplete Application Forms or applications on plain paper will not be entertained.
• Requests to add any document or information to the form after the last date will not be entertained.
• The University reserves the right to alter, correct or cancel the advertisement in full or in part without giving reasons. Any amendment or corrigendum will be published only on the Careers Portal.
• If an inadvertent mistake in scrutiny or selection is detected at any stage, even after an interview or appointment letter is issued, the University reserves the right to modify, withdraw or cancel the selection process.
• For posts earmarked for PwD candidates, only persons with relevant disability of at least 40% may apply. Applicable categories are: blindness and low vision (VH); deaf and hard of hearing (HH); locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy (OH); autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness; and multiple disabilities among these, including deaf-blindness. The disability claim of the selected applicant will be examined by the University’s Medical Board before the appointment letter is issued.
