Eligibility for HP TET November 2026 depends on the subject/category selected. A summary of the minimum qualification routes for each is given below; candidates should refer to the official prospectus for the complete list of alternative qualification routes.

Candidates pursuing the final year of a relevant NCTE/RCI-recognized teacher education programme are also eligible to appear. A 5% relaxation in minimum educational qualification and qualifying marks is available to SC/ST/OBC/PHH candidates of Himachal Pradesh.

There is no upper age limit to apply for HP TET. Age criteria will be considered separately by the appointing authority at the time of actual teacher recruitment, as per the applicable Recruitment & Promotion (R&P) Rules.

HP TET November 2026 Exam Pattern & Passing Marks

The HP TET question paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions of one mark each, to be attempted in 150 minutes. There is no negative marking.

The question booklet is bilingual (English and Hindi), except for language papers. HP TET qualifying certificates are valid for a lifetime, and there is no limit on the number of attempts.

2. Fill in your Aadhaar number, select the subject/category, and enter your qualification details.
3. Enter personal details (name, parents’ names, category, date of birth, contact details, address) exactly as per your Matriculation certificate, in capital letters.
4. Upload a scanned photograph (JPG, under 20 KB, 3.5cm x 4.5cm) and signature (JPG, under 15 KB, 3.5cm x 1.5cm).
5. Pay the application fee online through net banking, debit card, or credit card.
6. Check the declaration box and submit the form; note down the system-generated application number.
