The District Health & Family Welfare Samiti, Purba Medinipur District is a registered samiti (Registration No. S/IL/10904 of 2002-2003). Its office is at Tamluk, Purba Medinipur, PIN – 721636. The Samiti engages contractual staff under NHM/NUHM for the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal. Qualification and Experience

All applicants must be permanent residents of West Bengal and must know the local languages. Every essential qualification must be completed on or before the first date of online application.

Medical Officer-AYUSH(MHT) – Male and Female

The Male post and the Female post have word-for-word the same conditions:

• Permanent resident of West Bengal, able to read, write and speak in Bengali.
• Compulsory internship must be completed at the time of submission of application.
• Registration Certificate of the Respective Council should be obtained.
• For BHMS, the qualification must be included in the second schedule of the Homoeopathic Central Council Act, 1973.
• BHMS candidates must be registered in Part-A of the State Register of Homoeopathic Medical Practitioners, maintained by the Council of Homoeopathic Medicine, West Bengal. Registration in Part I of the Central Register, maintained by the Central Council of Homoeopathy, is also accepted.
• BHMS will include Graded BHMS degree also.
• Preferential: persons holding MD in Homeopathy / Ayurvedic / Unani from any institution recognised by the respective Councils of that stream will be given additional marks.

Pharmacist

• Permanent resident of West Bengal, able to read, write and speak in Bengali.
• Registration Certificate must be issued by West Bengal Pharmacy Council.
• Preferential: persons holding Bachelor in Pharmacy (B-Pharma) and Masters in Pharmacy (M-Pharma) from any institute approved by PCI/AICTE will be given additional marks.

Public Health Manager

• Permanent resident of West Bengal, able to read, write and speak in Bengali.
• Educational qualification, any one of the following:
  • Graduate in Dental/Nursing, OR
  • Master degree in Life Science (Botany, Zoology, Human Physiology, Micro-Biology, Biochemistry, Bio-Technology, Bioinformatics) / Master Degree in Economics, OR
  • Graduation in Social Science with Masters in Public Health / Community Health / Preventive & Social Medicine, OR
  • Graduation in any discipline with MBA in Human Resource / Health Care.
• AND efficiency in computers including MS Office and Internet.
• 2 Years post qualification experience in the field of health programme management in one of these areas: disease surveillance / community mobilization / Inter Sectoral collaboration / IEC-BCC Activities / Quality Control / Monitoring and Evaluation.

STS

• Well conversant with various computer programming including MS Word, excel.
• Permanent two wheeler driving license, and must be able to drive a two wheeler.
• Desirable: MSW.

Rules for Counting Experience

• Experience is counted from obtaining the required essential qualification up to the first date of online application.
• Experience gained while pursuing the course will not be counted.
• Ph.D/M.Phil will not be included in the experience period (wherever applicable).
• The experience certificate must come from the appointing authority. It must mention designation, date of joining, tenure, date of resignation/retirement (if applicable) and nature of activities.
• Offer and joining letters will not be considered as experience proof.
• Experience certificates that do not meet these criteria will be summarily rejected.

Age Limit

The age limit is counted as on 01.01.2026 and differs by post.

Pay and Terms

Contract Terms

• All posts are purely contractual, with an initial period up to 31.03.2027.
• The contract is likely to be extended on satisfactory performance and approval of Govt.
• The tenure of engagement may be renewed on the basis of satisfactory performance and approval of state authority.

Selection Process and Scale of Scoring

Candidates are ranked by marks under each post’s Scale of Scoring. Academic marks are proportionate to the percentage obtained. Some posts also carry a computer test, marks for experience or an interview.

• Proportionate marking means the percentage obtained in the exam multiplied by the maximum marks for that item, divided by 100. For example, class 10 marks for a Medical Officer are % obtained × 20/100.
• All marks are calculated excluding marks of Additional Subject.
• Proportionate marking is considered up to 2 decimal points.
• Original testimonials are verified. Candidates without the registration form will not be entertained for this verification.
• Candidates must go through all stages of recruitment. A candidate who skips any stage will be disqualified immediately.
• The date, time and venue of interview and the short listing of candidates will be published on www.wbhealth.gov.in and www.purbamedinipur.gov.in.

How to Apply for Purba Medinipur NHM Recruitment 2026

Only online applications will be accepted. Applications are made in the prescribed format on the Department’s website.

The fee has to be deposited through online mode only and is non-refundable.

1. From 4 November 2026, fill in the online application in the prescribed format on the Department’s website.
2. Upload a proper signature and photograph with the application.
3. Complete registration and pay the fee online by 25 November 2026.
4. Complete full submission of the application form by midnight of 26 November 2026.
5. Download the print copy of the online registration form from http://hr.wbhealth.gov.in/Index.aspx using “Application Print”. Keep it for document verification.
6. Keep the online registration number for future reference. The employer is not liable to give any information about it later.

There is no need to send the hard copy or print copy of the online registration form by post.

Important Instructions

• Forms that are not properly filled in, or are incomplete, are liable to be cancelled.
