The Digha Regional Station of ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CMFRI), West Bengal, has invited applications for one Young Professional-I under the project “Science for Sustainability: Developing an Integrated Assessment Framework (IAF) to inform management decisions for marine fisheries of Odisha and West Bengal (SFD/IAF/12)”. The post is purely on contract for one year from the date of joining or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier, with consolidated emoluments of Rs. 30000/- per month. Essential Experience

• Experience in feeding and reproductive biology of marine finfish and shellfish species

• Experience in marine fisheries data collection
• Prior experience in research projects, and willingness to undertake field sampling during sea-going expeditions
• Willingness to travel to various locations for field sampling activities
• Data entry, data mining, compilation, tabulation and analysis of data

Age Limit

The minimum age under the young professional category is 21 years and the maximum 45 years, with relaxation as per rules. The application form asks for age on 01 October 2026. How to Apply for ICAR-CMFRI Young Professional-I

1. Fill the application form (Annexure I) and the declaration (Annexure II), both duly signed.
2. Paste a passport size photograph in the space given on Annexure I.
3. Attach scanned copies of the original supporting documents (educational and experience) and your biodata.
4. Send all certificates from 10th standard onwards in scanned form.
5. Email everything to [email protected] on or before 19 November 2026.

Selection and Interview

The date and time of the online interview will be intimated by email to the shortlisted candidates. Only those who receive the communication may appear on the specified date and time. Applicants who have not sent the scanned certificates will not be allowed to appear. Annexure-II is submitted in advance by candidates who have a relative employed at ICAR/CMFRI. Other candidates furnish it at the time of interview.

Important Instructions

• The competent authority has the right to terminate without assigning any reason at any time.
• No TA/DA will be paid for appearing for the online interview.
• A candidate who has a near or distant relative employed at ICAR-CMFRI must declare the name, designation, nature of duties and relationship in writing as per Annexure-II. The declaration must reach the Scientist-in-charge by post or by email on or before 19 November 2026.
• If a relationship is declared only on the interview date, the candidate will not be interviewed.
• Candidates with marks issued as CGPA/OGPA must produce the approved conversion table or formula at reporting, otherwise their candidature will not be considered.
• The total number of vacancies may vary depending on other project requirements, if any, on the date of interview.
• The decision of the Director, ICAR-CMFRI is final and binding in all respects.
