Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Ltd (IPRCL), a company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India, is filling 2 posts of Joint General Manager (Electrical) – E5, one in Mumbai and one in Bhubaneswar, on absorption or on deputation. On absorption the pay is the IDA scale of Rs. 80000-220000/- plus applicable allowances and PRP. Deputationists get their parent pay with Deputation Duty Allowance. Applicants need experience in execution of infrastructure projects. The term is 03 years, extendable as per rules. Applications go by post, courier or by hand to the Chief General Manager (HR) in Mumbai, and the last date is 4 December 2026.

About IPRCL

Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Limited is a Joint Venture Company between 11 Major Ports under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, which hold 90% of the equity, and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited under the Ministry of Railways, which holds 10%. It was set up to provide efficient rail evacuation systems to Major Ports and to raise their capacity and throughput. It was registered on 10th July 2015 as a Public Limited Company under the Companies Act, 2013. Its Corporate Office is in Mazgaon, Mumbai, and its Registered Office is in Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

Who Can Apply

Applications are invited from Indian citizens. The crucial date for eligibility with reference to age, essential educational qualification and length of experience is 04.12.2026.

Essential Qualification and Experience

• Full time Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University.
• The educational qualification is not applicable for candidates applying on deputation.
• Required experience: Execution of Infrastructure Projects.
• Only experience gained after the minimum educational qualification counts towards eligibility.

Desirable

• Preferred experience: working in Railway Electric Traction Projects, General Power Supply Projects, Air Conditioning, Building electrifications, Roads Lightings etc.

Service and Grade Criteria

Officers should be presently working on regular basis (on absorption) or on contract basis in Railways, other Govt. departments, Central PSUs, Ports, JV Companies under Govt. Control or a Private Company, subject to the following:

• CDA scale officers: working in PB-3 (15600-39100) + GP 6600/- (pre-revised 6th CPC), revised to matrix level 11 under 7th CPC; OR working in PB-2/3 + GP Rs. 4800/5400 (pre-revised 6th CPC), revised to matrix level 8/9 under 7th CPC, with minimum 04 years in Group ‘A’ or minimum 08 years of Group ‘B’ service in the grades.
• IDA scale officers: working in IDA scale Rs. 32900-58000 (pre-revised 2nd PRC), revised to 80000-220000 under 3rd PRC, with minimum 08 years of Managerial/Executive level service; OR working in IDA scale Rs. 29100-54500 (pre-revised 2nd PRC), revised to 70000-200000 under 3rd PRC, for a period of 02 years and with minimum 8 years of Managerial/Executive level service.
• Deputation, regular CDA officers: working in Senior Scale, i.e. PB-3/GP 6600 (pre-revised 6th CPC) revised to matrix level 11 (7th CPC), with 05 years of Group A service; or in Senior Scale with 8 years of Group B service; or GP 5400 with 11 years in Group B service.
• Private company officials: working at the level of JGM equivalent and above with a minimum gross salary of at least Rs.1.25 lacs per month; Managerial level service experience of at least 12 years; and working in a company engaged in Execution of Infrastructure Projects/Railway works whose Sales Turnover for the preceding year is at least Rs. 200 Crs.

Higher grade pay or pay scale granted under ACP/MACP/NF by the parent department is not taken into account for these criteria.

Age Limit

Employees presently working on the rolls of IPRCL get age relaxation over the upper age limit to the extent of their service in IPRCL, subject to meeting all other eligibility criteria.

Physical and Medical Fitness

The applicant should be physically and medically fit. On selection, the candidate will have to undergo a medical examination as per the corporation’s policy.

Pay and Terms

• On Absorption: IDA Scale of pay Rs. 80000-220000/- + Applicable Allowances + PRP (for IDA as per Policy).
• On Deputation: Parent Pay & Allowances + Deputation Duty Allowance + Other Allowances applicable to deputationist as per Company Policy.
• Statutory deductions for EPF (employees’ share), Income Tax, Professional Tax etc. apply as per rules.
• Terms of appointment: On Absorption OR On Deputation for 03 years, extendable further as per rules, subject to extension of exemption from the rule of immediate absorption beyond 01.11.2028 by Ministry/DPE.
• Service conditions follow the Offer of Appointment, HR Policies of IPRCL and orders issued by IPRCL from time to time.
• A three-month advance notice is required before seeking resignation from IPRCL.
• Posting is tentatively at Mumbai or Bhubaneswar, but the officer can be posted anywhere in India.

1. Fill the application in Annexure-II if applying on absorption, or Annexure-III if applying on deputation. Both forms are in the notice.
2. Fill every column; an application form with a blank column may be rejected. Affix a recent passport size photograph on Annexure-II.
3. Attach the self-attested enclosures listed in Para 20 (see the list below).
4. Write on top of the envelope: “Application for the post of ________” (the post name).
5. Send it by post or courier, or drop it personally, to: Chief General Manager (HR), Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Ltd (IPRCL), 4th Floor, Nirman Bhavan, Mumbai Port Trust Building, M.P. Road, Mazgaon (E), Mumbai- 400010.
6. Candidates serving in Railways, other Govt. departments, Central PSUs, Ports or JV Companies under Govt. Control must send the application through proper channel only, with photocopies of their last 05 years APARs.

• Matriculation Certificate (for age proof).
• Certificates and mark-sheets in support of the required educational/professional qualifications.
• Experience certificates clearly showing the length and field of experience.
• Copy of the appointment letter for the present post with a valid Identity card/Current Pay Slip issued by the company.
• Copies of last 5 years APARs/ACRs (not applicable to officers working in a Private Company).
• Latest updated detailed CV.
• Photo ID and address proof (Passport/Aadhaar Card/Driving License/PAN card/Voter Card) issued by Central/State Govt.
• No Objection Certificate, if working in Railways, other Govt. departments, Central PSUs, Ports or JV Companies under Govt. Control (not applicable to private company candidates).
• Copy of audited balance sheet for proof of Sales Turnover (only for candidates working in a Private Company).

Selection Process

Selection involves a Personal Interview. Suitable candidates will be shortlisted on their eligibility/experience in the relevant field and may be called for interview. Where there are 05 or more eligible candidates for each vacancy, IPRCL reserves the right to shortlist in the ratio of 1:5.

• The interview may be held at the Corporate Office of IPRCL, through V.C., or at any other location at IPRCL’s discretion.
• Interview intimation will be sent through e-mail/IPRCL website; candidates should keep checking the website rather than wait for e-mail.
• Original documents of qualification, experience and age are verified at the interview. A candidate whose identity is in doubt, who cannot produce the documents, whose documents mismatch or who is found ineligible will not be allowed to appear in the interview, and the candidature will be cancelled.
• Shortlisted candidates serving in government bodies, PSUs, Ports or JV companies must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the interview.
• Travelling expenses for appearing in the Personal Interview will be paid as per Company Policy.
