About TISS Recruitment 2026

Tata Institute of Social Sciences, located at V.N. Purav Marg, Deonar, Mumbai 400 088, is declared as a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and functions as a grant-in-aid Institute under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. “Prayas” is a field action project initiated in the year 1990 under the Centre for Criminology and Justice, School of Social Work, TISS, Mumbai. It aims at the socio-legal and economic rehabilitation of persons who are at risk of being criminalized, exploited for commercial sex, and those in destitute states.

Vacancy Details

The notification announces a total of 2 unreserved vacancies on a contractual basis for a duration of 12 months at the TISS Mumbai Campus.

Who Can Apply

Pay and Tenure

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated remuneration of Rs 70,000/- per month for both positions, which is inclusive of Travelling Allowance. The engagement is purely on a contractual basis for a duration of 12 months. Selected candidates are required to join within 15 days of selection.

Senior Documentation and Communication officer

• Coordinating with the field team to collate data and maintaining the data on monthly basis

• Content creation on social media handles of Prayas; additionally, managing and overseeing social media platforms and engagement.
• Preparing Prayas newsletters and helping with writing reports of research studies.

1. Candidates are requested to apply online through the link (Apply Now) provided along with this advertisement on the Institute’s website at www.tiss.ac.in
2. Candidate must provide their Gmail ID in Online Application Form.
3. Candidates must submit separate application for each position applied for.
4. The application fee of Rs. 500/- be paid online. The application fee for SC/ST/PWD candidates will be Rs. 125/- if they attach the required certificate to the online application form. The women applicants are waived from payment of application fees.
5. Candidates are requested to take a print of the acknowledgment of the online application and keep it for future reference.
