National Investigation Agency (NIA) has notified 14 vacancies for Additional Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police posts on a deputation basis. Eligible applicants must submit their offline applications by post to SP(Adm), NIA HQ, Opposite CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on or before 8 November 2026. Candidates applying for the Additional Superintendent of Police post require a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years experience with Pay Matrix Level-11 (Rs. 67,700 – 2,08,700), while those applying for the Deputy Superintendent of Police post require a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years experience with Pay Matrix Level-10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500). The maximum age limit is 56 years as on the closing date, and the selection process involves deputation or absorption screening.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

अतिरिक्त पुलिस अधीक्षक के 4 पद हैं, जिनमें से 3 डिप्यूटेशन/एब्जॉर्प्शन के लिए हैं और 1 पद अन्य विकल्प के लिए है। उप पुलिस अधीक्षक के 10 पद हैं, जिनमें आधे डिप्यूटेशन के लिए और आधे अन्य विकल्प के लिए हैं। वेतन स्तर उनके पद के अनुसार अलग है।

Eligibility Criteria for Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP): Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR with 5 years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in posts in the PB-3 (Rs 15,600-39,100) with GP Rs 5400 (pre-revised) or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; AND possessing a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university and 5 years’ experience in handling of cases of investigation of criminal cases, or intelligence work including counter terrorism operations or imparting training in counter terrorism.

अतिरिक्त पुलिस अधीक्षक बनने के लिए संबंधित विभाग या कैडर में समान पद पर नियमित सेवा या PB-3 ग्रेड में 5 साल का अनुभव जरूरी है। साथ ही किसी भी विषय में स्नातक डिग्री और 5 साल का आपराधिक जांच या खुफिया कार्य अनुभव अनिवार्य है।

Eligibility Criteria for Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy. SP): Holding analogous posts on regular basis in regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR with 2 years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in post in the Pay Band-2 (Rs 9300-34800) with Grade Pay Rs 4800 (pre-revised) or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; OR with 3 years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in post in the Pay Band-2 (Rs 9300-34800) with Grade Pay Rs 4600 (pre-revised) or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; AND possessing a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university and 3 years’ experience in handling of cases of investigation of criminal cases, or intelligence work including counter terrorism operations or imparting training in counter terrorism.

उप पुलिस अधीक्षक पद के लिए भी संबंधित विभाग में समान पद पर नियमित सेवा या Pay Band-2 में 2 या 3 साल का अनुभव आवश्यक है। इसके साथ स्नातक डिग्री और 3 साल का जांच या खुफिया कार्य में अनुभव जरूरी है।

Age Limit: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

• Bio-data in prescribed Proforma (Annexure-II) duly filled and countersigned by the competent authority.
• Supporting certificate/documents in respect of claimed educational qualifications.
• Photocopies of APAR dossier from the year 2021-22 to 2025-26 duly attested, and non-reporting/initiation certificate for any broken period.
• Vigilance Clearance Certificate and Integrity Certificate issued by the respective department.
• Details of major/minor penalties imposed on the officer during the last 10 years.

Selection Process

Selection is carried out on a deputation/absorption basis through screening of bio-data, APAR dossiers, vigilance clearance, and eligibility verification by the competent authority and selection committee.
