IGNOU में कुल 43 शिक्षण पदों के लिए सीधे चयन की प्रक्रिया है, जिसमें ऑनलाइन आवेदन के बाद हार्ड कॉपी भी भेजना जरूरी है। यह भर्ती 14 विभिन्न स्कूलों के लिए है और आवेदन की अंतिम तिथियां स्पष्ट हैं।

IGNOU में कुल 43 पदों में से प्रोफेसर के 21, एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर के 16 और असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर के 6 पद हैं। ये पद विभिन्न स्कूलों और विषयों में विभिन्न श्रेणियों (UR, OBC, SC, ST, PwBD) के लिए आरक्षित हैं।

IGNOU Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

Professor – Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, Continuing Education, Management, Law, Journalism, Tourism, InterDisciplinary Studies, Social Work, Foreign Languages, Translation Studies (Eligibility A or B)

Professor – Health Science (School of Health Sciences)

• M.B.B.S. with M.D./M.S. from an MCI-recognized Medical College, as per MCI Teacher Eligibility Qualification Regulations, in preventive & social medicine / community medicine / hospital administration / community health administration
• 8 years of post-PG experience
• Associate Professor in the subject for a minimum 3 years in an MCI-recognized Medical College/Institution, with 4 research publications in indexed journals (minimum 2 during the Associate Professor tenure as first/corresponding author)

Professor – Nursing (School of Health Sciences)

• Master’s degree in Nursing with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade)
• Minimum 14 years of teaching experience after M.Sc. Nursing as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor in a College of Nursing/University
• Desirable: independent published work of high standard, or a doctorate/M.Phil.

General Eligibility Conditions (All Professor Posts)

• Minimum eligibility conditions follow UGC Regulations, 2018 and subsequent amendments (including the 2023 Amendment Regulations); norms of NCTE, MCI, etc. also apply where relevant to the post
• Minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade) at Master’s level is essential for direct recruitment of teachers at any level
• 5% marks relaxation (55% to 50%) at Bachelor’s and Master’s level for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwBD candidates in the respective category advertised
• 5% marks relaxation to Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master’s degree before 19 September 1991
• Time taken to acquire M.Phil./Ph.D. is not counted as teaching/research experience; active service pursued simultaneously with a research degree (without availing leave) is counted as teaching experience
• Cut-off date for determining eligibility conditions is the last date of submission of the online application

प्रोफेसर पद पर सबसे अधिक वेतन मिलता है, उसके बाद एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर और असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर का वेतन क्रमशः कम होता है। वेतन 7वें CPC के अनुसार निर्धारित है।

IGNOU Recruitment 2026 Selection Process (Screening & Interview)

Selection is interview-based (no written exam). For Professor posts, applications are first screened and scored by a Screening Committee against a weighted research/academic-credential scale; shortlisted candidates are then called for interview by the Selection Committee.

Professor Screening Criteria (Key Categories, Appendix I)

• Full category list (research papers, books, e-content/MOOCs, curricula design, research guidance, projects, patents, policy documents, awards, invited lectures) and detailed point values are in Appendix I of the official notification; research score must come from a minimum of 3 out of 6 categories
• Combined research score from “Policy Document” and “Invited Lectures/Resource Person” categories is capped at 30% of the teacher’s total research score
• Up to 15 candidates will be called for interview per Professor post, based on descending merit from the screening score
• Screening/shortlisting marks carry no weightage in the final Selection Committee interview assessment
• Publications “under submission” or sent to referees are not considered for scoring

प्रोफेसर पद के लिए चयन पूरी तरह से साक्षात्कार आधारित है, जिसमें पहले आवेदनों की स्क्रीनिंग होती है और शोध एवं अकादमिक योग्यता के आधार पर अंक दिए जाते हैं। प्रति पद अधिकतम 15 उम्मीदवारों को इंटरव्यू के लिए बुलाया जाएगा। एसोसिएट और असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर के लिए UGC के नियम लागू होंगे।

How to Apply for IGNOU Recruitment 2026

1. Visit the official website ignou.ac.in and access the prescribed online Application Proforma for the relevant post and discipline.
2. Read the detailed notice, qualifications, experience, and screening criteria available on the website before filling the form.
3. Fill in complete and correct personal, educational, and experience details. Data once entered cannot be changed – review carefully before final submission.
4. Upload all supporting documents (certificates, experience proof, publications, etc.) with the application.
5. Pay the applicable application fee online via credit/debit card or net banking.
6. Submit the application within the prescribed time limit (by 20.10.2026 or 30 days from Employment News publication, whichever is later).
7. Take a printout of the confirmed online application.
8. Send the printed application along with self-attested copies of all required certificates/documents, properly bound/tagged and page-numbered, by registered/speed post to: The Director, Academic Coordination Division, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068, on or before 30.10.2026. The envelope must clearly indicate the post, discipline, School, and Advertisement No.

आवेदन केवल ऑनलाइन स्वीकार किए जाएंगे, लेकिन ऑनलाइन आवेदन के बाद हार्ड कॉपी जरूरी है जो 30 अक्टूबर 2026 तक भेजनी होगी। हार्ड कॉपी में सभी दस्तावेज सेल्फ-अटेस्टेड और व्यवस्थित होने चाहिए। डाक द्वारा भेजे गए आवेदन के बिना ऑनलाइन आवेदन अधूरा माना जाएगा।

• Experience certificates clearly indicating pay scale and gross pay drawn
• Offer of appointment letters and Form 16/passbook/payslip entries showing actual pay drawn
• Copies of promotion orders, if promoted during service
• Copies of research publications with cover page and content page of the Research Journal
• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD) valid for the current financial year (2026-27), where applicable
• Disability certificate (for PwBD posts, minimum 40% disability)
• No Objection Certificate and Vigilance Clearance Certificate (for candidates serving in Universities/Colleges/Government/PSUs)
• Proof of earlier fee payment (for candidates re-applying against Advt No. 02/2022/ACD or 02/2023/ACD)
• Valid photo ID (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving License/Passport) at the time of interview

Important Conditions

• Mere fulfilment of qualification/experience does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview; the number of candidates called is determined by the University
• Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification
• No TA/DA is paid to candidates for attending the interview
• Any corrigendum/addendum will be posted only on the University website (ignou.ac.in)
• The University reserves the right to amend eligibility conditions, number of posts, or selection criteria, and to not fill any post, without assigning reasons
• Applications processed on a self-certification basis; responsibility for false/incorrect information lies solely with the applicant, with liability for legal action
• Candidates already selected/appointed on the basis of incorrect or forged credentials are liable to have their candidature/service cancelled at any stage
• Any dispute regarding the recruitment falls under the jurisdiction of Delhi
• OBC candidates in the creamy layer are treated as unreserved and must apply against unreserved posts only
• Candidates who applied earlier for the same post against Advt No. 02/2022/ACD or 02/2023/ACD must re-apply afresh with updated information; they are exempt from the fee on submitting proof of earlier payment
