The Karwar Regional Station of ICAR-CMFRI (ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Indian Council of Agricultural Research) has advertised one Young Professional-I post under the Central Corpus Fund ICAR-National Priority Project on “Optimization of Farming Practices of Black Seabream, Acanthopagrus berda, for Sustainable Production”. The post pays Rs. 30,000 per month, consolidated, and is purely temporary for 1 year or until the project is completed, whichever is earlier. Graduates in Fisheries Science, Mariculture, Zoology or Marine biology must email their biodata with scanned self-attested documents to [email protected] on or before 20 November 2026. About the Karwar Regional Station

The Karwar Regional Station of ICAR-CMFRI is part of the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. It is located at Post Box No. 5, Baithkol, Karwar – 581 302, Uttar Kannada, Karnataka State. The post is for a project on farming practices of Black Seabream (Acanthopagrus berda), funded under the Central Corpus Fund of ICAR as a National Priority Project.

Age Limit

Pay and Tenure

The emoluments are Rs. 30,000/- per month, consolidated as per revised ICAR guidelines. The notice does not mention HRA or other allowances. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

The post is purely temporary, for 1 year or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier. The terms and conditions also say the tenure shall be one year, extendable for a further period of up to two years, as per ICAR guidelines.

Services automatically stand terminated with the termination of the project or scheme, or even earlier at the discretion of the Competent Authority. The appointment gives no claim to regular employment at ICAR-CMFRI or any other ICAR institute. The notice calls the positions purely contractual, non-regular, time bound and co-terminus with the project.

How to Apply for ICAR-CMFRI Karwar Young Professional-I

1. Download the one-page application in the prescribed format from the institute’s website. The same form is printed in the notice. Applications in any other format are not invited.
2. Fill in the form and attach a passport size photograph.
3. Attach scanned, self-attested copies of the provisional/final UG degree certificate, the Intermediate/10+2 certificate and the SSC/Xth class certificate.
4. Email the biodata and scanned copies of the supporting documents to [email protected] on or before 20.11.2026.
5. If a near or distant relative is an employee of ICAR-CMFRI, send a written declaration of the relative’s name, designation, nature of duties and relationship to the undersigned on or before 20.11.2026.
6. Report at the Karwar Regional Station 01 hour before the scheduled interview time.

Selection and Interview

Only shortlisted candidates will be intimated via e-mail. Only candidates who receive official communication will be permitted to appear for the interview on the specified date and time. The notice does not describe how candidates are shortlisted or how the interview is marked.
