Nine contractual project posts in Pathology, Critical Care and Radiation Oncology are open at Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati, Tata Memorial Centre, Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India, for its “Pediatric and Adult Haematolymphoid Unit”: Consultant ‘E’ (Pathology) (Project), Consultant ‘D’ (Pathology) (Project), Consultant ‘D’ / Senior Resident (Critical Care) (Project) and Medical Officer ‘D’ (Radiation Oncology) (Project). The consolidated salary ranges from Rs. 1,28,000/- to Rs. 1,52,000/- per month depending on post and experience, and the appointment is initially for six months. Department-wise Vacancies

BBCI has advertised 9 posts in total across four positions. The notice does not give a category-wise (reservation) break-up.

Qualification and Experience

Each post has its own qualification. The postgraduate degrees must be recognized by the National Medical Commission, as printed for each post below.

For Consultant ‘E’ (Pathology), the notice gives two alternative routes: a D.M. in Oncopathology or Haematopathology, or an M.D. / D.N.B. (Pathology) or equivalent with at least 3 years of post M.D. / D.N.B. experience in Pathology. The 3-year experience condition is attached to the M.D. / D.N.B. route. Candidates should check the official notification for the discipline-specific eligibility of each post.

Age Limit

The age limit differs by post. For every post the notice adds that the limit is “Relaxable for experienced and deserving candidates”. The notice does not print a cut-off date for counting age.

सलाहकार ‘ई’ पद के लिए आयु सीमा 45 वर्ष है जबकि अन्य पदों के लिए 40 वर्ष है। अनुभवी और योग्य उम्मीदवारों के लिए आयु में छूट दी जा सकती है। टाटा मेमोरियल सेंटर के वर्तमान कर्मचारी या संविदा पर काम करने वाले उम्मीदवारों को 5 साल तक की आयु छूट मिलती है।

Pay and Terms

All four posts carry a consolidated salary that rises with the candidate’s years of experience.

The notice does not mention any allowance on top of the consolidated salary, and it does not mention the in-hand salary.

• The position is temporary and purely on contractual basis.
• The appointment shall initially be for a period of six (06) months, which may be extended further solely on the basis of satisfactory performance, and shall remain co-terminus with the project.
• The candidate shall have no right or claim for permanent employment under the project or at BBCI, nor any right to claim continuation of services in any other project or position.
• The selection will not be an employment on Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute’s permanent pay-roll.

Selection Process

Applications will be initially screened, and eligible candidates will be called for Interview / Written examination. The notice also refers to an MCQ / Skill Test / VIVA.

Screening and Shortlisting

The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called for the Written Examination / Interview / Skill test to a reasonable limit, on the basis of the qualifications and experience of the applicants. It may also fix a minimum eligibility standard / bench mark and cut-off marks (Group / Stream / Discipline / Category-wise etc.), taking into account factors such as the number of vacancies and percentage of marks in Graduate / Post Graduate degrees. Merely fulfilling the prescribed qualifications does not entitle an applicant to be called. The decision of the Director, Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute in this regard shall be final and binding.

Interview / Written Examination

The list of shortlisted candidates for the MCQ / Skill Test / VIVA will be uploaded on the official website of Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute. Information on the date of the interview / written examination will be sent by email to eligible candidates only. The notice does not give an exam pattern or an interview date.

How to Apply for BBCI Recruitment 2026

1. Open the online application link given in the notice: https://tmc.gov.in/fta/frm_Registration.aspx (candidates must apply through “Online Application” only).
2. Apply for the chosen post in the prescribed format, giving full details of qualifications and experience, as these will be checked against original documents later.
3. Provide a valid email ID, because all correspondence will be done through email only.
4. Complete and submit the online application by 15 November 2026, up to 05:30 p.m. (Indian Standard Time). Incomplete and online non-submitted applications will be summarily rejected.
5. Watch your email (including spam / bulk folders) and the BBCI website for the shortlist and the interview / written examination date.
