Indian Maritime University (A Central University, Govt. of India), Navi Mumbai Campus, Training Ship Chanakya, has invited applications for 01 post of Instructor (Physical Education) and 01 post of Instructor (Navigation), purely on contract basis. Indian Maritime University is described on its letterhead as a Central University of the Government of India. This recruitment is issued from its Navi Mumbai Campus, Training Ship Chanakya, Nerul, Navi Mumbai-400706.

Where and How to Send

Send the application in the attached format, with all supporting documents and the C.V, by email to [email protected]. The notice gives one subject line for each post, and the one that applies must be used:

• Instructor (Physical Education): “Application for the post of Instructor (Physical Education) on contract basis”
• Instructor (Navigation): “Application for the post of Instructor (Navigation) on contract basis”

The notice attaches a separate application form for each post (Application for the post of Instructor (Physical Education) (on contract) and Application for the post of Instructor (Navigation) (on contract)). Both forms ask for personal details, Aadhaar and PAN numbers, current or last position held, notice required to join, qualification details, academic qualifications, experience details and any other information. Each ends with a declaration signed by the candidate.

Candidates whose date of birth is entered in the form must also give their age as on 16.11.2026.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

Instructor (Physical Education) (on contract)

• Age limit: Upto 40 years (age counted as on 16.11.2026, as the application form shows).
• Essential: a Master’s Degree in Physical Education with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B at seven point scale of O,A,B,C,D,E and F.
• Essential: record of having represented University/college at the inter university/inter collegiate level or the state in national championships.
• Desirable: must have cleared National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by UGC.

Instructor (Navigation) (on contract)

• Age limit: Upto 55 years (age counted as on 16.11.2026, as the application form shows).
• Qualification (a): Petty Officer in Seaman Branch (Radar Plotter Rating) from Indian Navy or Coast Guard.
• OR (b): Navigational watch-keeping officer (Near coastal Voyages) with DGS Certificate.

The notice does not mention any age relaxation. Candidates should check the official notification for the eligibility of each post.

Terms of the contract: both appointments are purely on contract basis for a period of six months initially, extendable based on performance during last tenure and appraisal reports.

At the interview, shortlisted candidates have to bring their original certificates of educational qualifications and work experience, along with one set of photo copies of the same, for verification.

Selection Process

The mode of selection is interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview, which is to be held during Nov-Dec 2026. No TA/DA is payable for appearing in the interview. The exact interview date and venue are not given in the notice.
