National Film Development Corporation Ltd. (NFDC), a Government of India Enterprise at NFDC-FD Complex, Mumbai, has invited applications for one unreserved General Manager (North) post at Delhi on the pay scale (IDA) of Rs. 100000-260000 (Level E-7). The post is on direct recruitment, immediate absorption or deputation basis, under Advertisement No. 01/Regular/2026. The age limit is up to 50 years on the date of closing of application. Candidates apply online only through the Careers section of www.nfdcindia.com. The notice allows 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in the Employment News, and the printout with self-attested documents goes by hand or post to General Manager (P&A), NFDC.

Who Can Apply

Educational qualification (essential), any one of:

• Ph-D
• 2 years full time Post Graduation degree
• 2 years full time Post Graduate Diploma

The degree or diploma is in Mass Communication/Film Studies/Mass Media/Journalism/Film Archiving.

Experience (essential):

• 15 Years’ experience with PSU/Any Govt. Organization/Private sector (with minimum 10 years of relevant in a Sr. Managerial position)
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in business development/Intl. relations/media planning/Skill development related to films

Desirable:

• Diploma/Certificates in Film Studies/Media Studies/Film Archiving/Curating Programmer

Age Limit

Qualification Conditions

• The essential educational qualifications are mandatory, and only full time/regular courses will be considered.
• All essential qualifications must be from a UGC recognized Indian University/UGC recognized Indian Deemed University or an AICTE approved course from Autonomous Indian Institutions/concerned statutory council (wherever applicable).
• No claim of possession of a qualification equivalent to the prescribed one will be entertained, except for ex-servicemen. Candidates claiming equivalence must produce a copy of the equivalence certificate.
• For Degree/Diploma in Management with a mention of dual specialization, one of the specializations must be function specific for which the post has been advertised.

Job Profile

1. Head of the Regional office, responsible for its operational and financial efficiency: business development, making the cost center profitable, business acquisition, liaising and coordination with all stakeholders, high-quality business strategies and plans, policy and strategy alignment with organizational goals, managing various verticals of the regional office, internal control, budgets, optimum utilization of resources and efficient manpower management.
2. Identifying and deciding alternatives to make Promotion, Programming and Production units profitable.
3. Identifying and implementing growth plans in the light of technological and environmental changes.
4. Providing policy guidelines for the departments and sections below him/her.
5. Liaisoning with other Regional Offices, Ministries of Central & State Governments, Departments and external agencies to fulfill the business targets.
6. Resolving and controlling budgets and resources to achieve targets.
7. Developing continuously the motivation level and competence level of the people working in the Head office, Mumbai.
8. Directing and controlling the Regional functions, departments and sections to achieve the plans and targets.

4. Write on the envelope: “Application for the post of General Manager (North)”.
5. Government, PSU and Autonomous Body employees must apply through proper channel.
6. For deputation, Cadre Controlling Authorities may forward applications of eligible and willing officers, with relevant documents, to MD, NFDC, NFDC-FD Complex, 24, Dr Gopalrao Deshmukh Marg, Mumbai 400 026, within 30 days of the advertisement being posted on the NFDC website.
