A walk-in interview for one Teaching Assistant in the Department of Computer Science will be held on 20 November 2026 (Friday) at 11.00 AM, with candidates reporting at 10.00 AM at the Dean’s Chamber, Verghese Kurien Institute of Dairy and Food Technology (VKIDFT), Mannuthy P.O, Thrissur – 680 651. Posts and Eligibility

VKIDFT will engage one Teaching Assistant against the existing vacancy in the Department of Computer Science. The vacancy is listed under Category: OC, and the notice states that appointments shall be made in accordance with the communal rotation and reservation norms prescribed by the Government of Kerala.

Essential Qualification

1. Bachelor’s Degree (B.E/B. Tech) in Computer Science/Computer Science and Engineering
2. M. Tech Computer Science/Computer Science and Engineering
3. NET or PhD in concerned subject

In the absence of NET/PhD qualified candidates, candidates without NET/PhD who possess B. Tech and M. Tech in the above subjects will be considered for appointment. However, the engagement of such candidates shall be limited to 179 days or one academic session, whichever is shorter.

Preference will be given to applicants who furnish a declaration of willingness to act as Resident Tutor in the hostels of VKIDFT.

योग्यता में बी.ई./बी.टेक और एम.टेक कंप्यूटर साइंस में होना चाहिए। NET या PhD वाले उम्मीदवारों को प्राथमिकता मिलेगी। बिना NET/PhD के उम्मीदवारों को सीमित अवधि (179 दिन या एक अकादमिक सत्र) के लिए नियुक्त किया जाएगा। हॉस्टल में रेसिडेंट ट्यूटर के रूप में काम करने की इच्छा जताने वालों को वरीयता मिलेगी।

Age Limit

The age limit is not more than 50 years. The application form attached to the notice asks for the candidate’s age as on the date of advertisement. The notice does not mention any age relaxation.

उम्र सीमा अधिकतम 50 वर्ष है और इस पर कोई छूट नहीं दी जाएगी। उम्र विज्ञापन की तारीख के अनुसार देखी जाएगी।

Pay

UGC या नियमों के अनुसार योग्य उम्मीदवारों को प्रति दिन 2,200 रुपये और अन्य उम्मीदवारों को 1,800 रुपये प्रति दिन मिलेंगे, लेकिन माह में अधिकतम वेतन क्रमशः 50,000 और 45,000 रुपये तक सीमित है।

Nature and Length of the Engagement

• The engagement of Teaching Assistant is purely provisional and on daily wage basis, for a maximum period of 360 days.
• For candidates selected without NET/PhD, the engagement is limited to 179 days or one academic session, whichever is shorter.
• The engagement as Teaching Assistant on daily wage basis will be governed by the relevant university rules and regulations from time to time.

What Happens on the Day

Candidates report at the Dean’s Chamber, VKIDFT, Mannuthy at 10.00 AM on 20 November 2026. The walk-in interview is conducted at 11.00 AM the same day, and the originals brought by candidates are used for verification.

Important Instructions

• The engagement shall stand terminated upon unauthorized absence / leave period extending beyond 15 days.
• The engagement will be terminated on short notice or when a regular hand or candidate recruited through Employment Exchange joins, whichever is earlier.
• The engagement shall not entitle the candidate to any claim for future permanent posting in KVASU.
