One temporary Project Associate-I post is open in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology Silchar. The post serves the project “ML-Driven ISAC for Hybrid Satellite–Terrestrial 6G Connectivity”, sponsored by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Govt. of India. The post runs for two years and pays INR 37,000 per month to GATE/NET-qualified candidates, or 30,000 per month otherwise, plus HRA @10% if Institute accommodation is not provided. Candidates need a B. Tech/B.E. in ECE/CSE/EE/E&I, and only Indian citizens may apply. The completed application form must be emailed to the Principal Investigator. National Institute of Technology Silchar is in Assam (PIN 788010). Its Office of the Dean (Research & Consultancy) issued this advertisement. The post is in an ANRF-sponsored project (Project Sanction Number FILE NO. ANRF/ECRG/2025/003836/ENS). The project aims to develop Machine Learning based algorithms for sensing and communication in terrestrial wireless systems, satellite systems and Integrated Satellite–Terrestrial Networks (ISTN). The Principal Investigator is Dr. Sucharita Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, NIT Silchar.

Essential Qualification

Minimum B. Tech/B.E. in ECE/CSE/EE/E&I from the recognized university.

Desirable Experience

• A solid understanding of digital communication, probability theory, optimization, and wireless communications is crucial.
• Experience with programming languages; MATLAB or Python.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The age limit is 35 years, as on the closing date of application, 13 November 2026. SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD candidates will get relaxation in qualification and age as per Govt. of India Rules.

Pay and Tenure

HRA @10% is paid on top of this pay if Institute Accommodation is not provided. The post is temporary and lasts two years. It can be extended based on a performance review every 12 months.

GATE या NET क्वालिफिकेशन वाले उम्मीदवारों को बेहतर वेतन मिलेगा। वेतन के अलावा आवास न मिलने पर 10% HRA भी मिलेगा। पद की अवधि 2 साल है, जिसे हर साल प्रदर्शन के आधार पर बढ़ाया जा सकता है।

Selection and Interview

Candidates are selected through screening followed by an interview. The Institute may limit the number of candidates shortlisted for the interview based on the screening. The interview date and mode (online/offline) and other details will be notified through email. Employed candidates must submit a no objection certificate from their employer at the time of interview.
