The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Kalyani has 12 Senior Resident (Non-Academic) posts in Dermatology, Microbiology, General Surgery, Pharmacology and Pathology. All 12 vacancies are reserved: EWS – 1, OBC – 9, ST – 2. The pay is Level 11 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix plus NPA for medical graduates. AIIMS Kalyani is a statutory body under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It is located at NH-34 Connector, Basantapur, Saguna, Kalyani, District Nadia, West Bengal 741245. The notice describes it as an Institute of National Importance and one of the new AIIMS set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) to correct regional imbalance in tertiary healthcare and to reach self-sufficiency in graduate, postgraduate and higher medical education and training.

Department-wise Vacancies

AIIMS Kalyani has 12 Senior Resident (Non-Academic) vacancies across five departments.

The notice gives the category break-up only for the total, not for each department:

• 4% of the total vacancies are horizontally reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)-OPH (OL) category candidates, as permissible under the Rules. The physical requirements for these posts are S (Sitting), ST (Standing), W (Walking), MF (Manipulation by Fingers) and RW (Reading and Writing).
• Reservation will be as per Government of India Policy. The Competent Authority of AIIMS Kalyani reserves the right to vary the vacancies, including reserved vacancies, and AIIMS reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies.
• All candidates may apply against the post earmarked for EWS, on these conditions: their candidature will be considered only if EWS applicants are not available; they will be treated as UR candidates only, with no relaxations otherwise allowed to their own categories; and under no circumstances will the fees be refunded.
• If no eligible candidates are found from the advertised category, candidates from other categories may be considered for interview against the concerned category on a temporary basis.

Qualification and Experience

• All the terms and conditions of the Residency Scheme will be applicable.
• The essential qualification, experience and maximum age limit are counted up to the date of publishing the notification on the Institute website. Applicants without the required qualifications by that date will not be considered.
• Any period of experience that is prescribed is counted after obtaining the prescribed qualification.
• Qualifications and experience must be recognised by the Government of India. A candidature will be cancelled at any stage if the qualification or experience is found to be not recognised.
• Qualifications and experience may be relaxed in exceptional cases at the discretion of the Selection Committee, with prior approval of the Competent Authority.
• Candidates must not have been convicted by any Court of Law.

वरिष्ठ निवासी पद के लिए मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय से संबंधित विषय में पोस्ट ग्रेजुएशन (MD/MS/DNB) या समकक्ष योग्यता आवश्यक है। आवेदन के समय आवश्यक योग्यता और उम्र पूरी होनी चाहिए, और अनुभव योग्यता प्राप्ति के बाद का ही माना जाएगा। कुछ मामलों में चयन समिति की मंजूरी से छूट भी मिल सकती है।

Age Limit

For the Senior Resident post, the age limit is not exceeding 45 (Forty-Five) years as on the date of publishing the notification on the Institute website. No age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved vacancies.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation for other categories of candidates also applies as per the DoPT instructions, and all age relaxation is regulated as per the DoPT instructions.

वरिष्ठ निवासी पद के लिए अधिकतम उम्र 45 वर्ष है, जिसमें SC/ST को 5 वर्ष, OBC को 3 वर्ष और दिव्यांग उम्मीदवारों को 10 वर्ष की छूट मिलती है। अन्य श्रेणियों के लिए भी DoPT के अनुसार आयु में छूट लागू होती है।

Reserved Category Conditions

• Candidates applying against SC/ST/OBC/OH/EWS posts are considered subject to a Caste/OH Certificate issued by the appropriate Competent Authority in the prescribed format. The community must be clearly and legibly mentioned in the certificate.
• OBC eligibility is based on the castes in the Central List of the Government of India. OBC candidates must not belong to the Creamy Layer, and their sub-caste must match the entries in the Central List of OBC. Otherwise their candidature will not be considered against any reserved category post they applied for.
• Only persons with not less than 40% physical disability are eligible for reservation under the OH quota. They must submit a Disability Certificate issued by a Competent Authority in the prescribed format.
• For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD), the disability certificate must be signed by a duly constituted and authorised Medical Board of State or Central Govt. Hospitals/Institutions and countersigned by the Medical Superintendent/CMO/Head of Hospital/Institution. The candidate will be allowed to join only after medical fitness certification by a duly constituted Medical Board.

आरक्षित वर्ग के लिए जाति या शारीरिक अक्षमता प्रमाण पत्र आवश्यक है, जिसमें सही और स्पष्ट विवरण होना चाहिए। OBC उम्मीदवारों के लिए केंद्र सरकार की सूची में उनकी जाति और उपजाति का होना जरूरी है और वे ‘क्रीमी लेयर’ में नहीं होने चाहिए। दिव्यांग उम्मीदवारों को 40% से अधिक शारीरिक अक्षमता का प्रमाणपत्र देना होगा।

Pay and Terms

Allowances and perks are admissible as per the rules, in addition to Pay and NPA (for medical candidates only). All the posts carry the usual allowances admissible to Central Government Employees of similar status at Kalyani (West Bengal). AIIMS Kalyani will try to provide residential accommodation, subject to availability, but campus accommodation is limited and may not be possible in every case. Where no accommodation is provided, HRA as admissible to Central Government Servants of similar status stationed at Kalyani, West Bengal will be provided.

• Nature of appointment: Senior Resident (Non-Academic), a tenure post on contract for a maximum period of 3 years as per the Central Residency Scheme.
• Rules: The post is regulated by the provisions of the Central Residency Scheme and governed by the CCS (Temporary Service) Rules. Service under the Institute is governed by the Act of Parliament that established AIIMS as an autonomous body, and by the Rules and Regulations framed under it.
• Whole time: The post is whole time, and private practice of any kind is prohibited.
• Posting: Candidates are likely to be posted at the rural health and urban centre attached to the Institute, for a period decided by the Institute.
• Joining: Only candidates who can join within fifteen days from the date the Offer of engagement is issued may apply.

वरिष्ठ निवासी पद पर वेतन 7वें वेतन आयोग के स्तर 11 के अनुसार मिलेगा, साथ ही चिकित्सा स्नातकों को NPA भी मिलेगा। पद तीन साल के अनुबंध पर हैं, पूर्णकालिक और निजी प्रैक्टिस निषिद्ध है। आवेदकों को संस्थान के ग्रामीण या शहरी स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों में तैनात किया जा सकता है और चयनित उम्मीदवारों को 15 दिनों के भीतर ज्वाइन करना होगा।

How to Apply for AIIMS Kalyani Senior Resident

Applications for the AIIMS Kalyani Senior Resident posts are accepted only online, through the application portal (a Google Form) linked in the notice. The form is available until 09.11.2026, 05:00 PM. No hard copy of the application will be accepted.

1. Pay the application fee by NEFT to “AIIMS KALYANI INTERNAL RESOURCES ACCOUNT” (bank details below). PWBD candidates are exempted.
2. Keep ready all certificates scanned as PDF files, a scanned photograph as an image file, a scanned signature as an image file, and the scanned payment receipt as a PDF file.
3. Open the online application portal and fill in the application before 09.11.2026, 05:00 PM.
4. Choose online or offline mode for the interview. This choice is final and cannot be changed later.
5. Give your phone number and e-mail address for faster communication.
6. To apply in more than one department, fill a separate form and pay a separate application fee for each.

Interview Schedule and Venue

• The joining link for the online interview will be shared with eligible candidates before the interview.
• Only eligible candidates, as per the eligibility list to be uploaded on the Institute website, will be allowed to appear for the interview. No personal communication will be made.
• If a candidate’s interview is not completed on the stipulated day and time, the candidate may have to attend on the following day.
• No TA/DA/Accommodation will be paid for appearing in the interview.

Selection Process

Selection for the AIIMS Kalyani Senior Resident posts is based only on performance in the interview. After the candidates report, their applications and required documents are verified, and then the interview is held. A merit list (selected and waiting) for all categories, i.e. UR/OBC/SC/ST, is prepared on the basis of the personal interview. If a post falls vacant because a selected candidate does not join or resigns, it will be offered to candidates on the waiting list in order of merit. The final result will be displayed on the website www.aiimskalyani.edu.in.
