CSIR IICB कोलकाता में 3 नवंबर 2026 को 41 अस्थायी परियोजना पदों के लिए वॉक-इन इंटरव्यू होगा, जिसमें उम्मीदवारों को सुबह 8:45 बजे रिपोर्ट करना होगा। पदों के अनुसार वेतन और आयु सीमा अलग-अलग हैं, और सभी पद अस्थायी हैं।

CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (Council of Scientific & Industrial Research) will hold a walk-in interview on 3 November 2026 (Tuesday). Candidates must report by 08:45 A.M. at CSIR–Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (CSIR IICB), 4, Raja S.C. Mullick Road, Jadavpur, Kolkata – 700032. Under Advertisement No. R&C/592/2026 dated 17.10.2026, around 41 candidates will be selected for temporary engagement as Senior Project Associate, Project Associate II, Project Associate I and Project Assistant II under different projects. Pay ranges from ₹20,000/- p.m. + HRA to ₹42,000/- p.m. + HRA.

About CSIR IICB

CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology is a laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research. It is located at 4, Raja S.C. Mullick Road, Kolkata – 700032, and the walk-in will be held at its Jadavpur campus. The positions in this advertisement are project positions under research projects run at the institute. These include the CSIR Jigyasa Project, CSIR League for AI-based Industrial Manifestation (CLAIM) and Chemical Biology Approaches to Understand Disease Biology, Diagnostics and Therapeutics (IICB-CB).

Posts and Eligibility

There are 41 vacancies spread across 39 vacancy codes. Two codes have 2 vacancies each (5922639 and 5922634), and every other code has 1. The table below gives the post-wise total, the age limit and the pay.

विभिन्न पदों के लिए कुल 41 रिक्तियां हैं, जिनमें Senior Project Associate के लिए अधिकतम आयु 40 वर्ष और शेष पदों के लिए 35 वर्ष है। NET/GATE जैसे राष्ट्रीय स्तर की योग्यता रखने वालों को उच्च वेतन मिलेगा।

For Project Associate I and Project Associate II, the higher rate (a) is for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET incl. lectureship / assistant professorship or GATE, OR who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions.

Age Limit and Age Relaxation

The age limit is 40 years for Senior Project Associate and 35 years for Project Associate II, Project Associate I and Project Assistant II. Age and qualifications are reckoned as on the date of interview. As per CSIR guidelines, the upper age limit is relaxed as follows:

Selection Committee B1 – Vacancy Codes 5922601 to 5922613 (13 vacancies)

• 5922607 (Project Associate I) – Desirable: The candidate should have desirable work experience of minimum of two months or higher working in a project. The candidate should also have sound knowledge of majority of techniques routinely used in molecular biology. The candidate also should have sound knowledge of field of eukaryotic transcriptional regulation.
• 5922609 (Project Assistant II) – Desirable: (1) Knowledge in concept development and demonstrations through simple experiment and DIY Kit development; (2) Knowledge in design/visualisation/ Graphics/animation; (3) Aptitude towards science communication.
• 5922610 (Project Associate I) – Essential: Masters/ Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences / MVSc / Animal Sciences OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University. OR Any equivalent qualifications duly recognized by the concerned authority as per the functional requirement of the Project to be recorded in writing by PI and Director.
• 5922610 (Project Associate I) – Desirable: (1) Experience in handling instruments like, HPLC, Centrifuge scanning electron microscope, vacuum concentrator which may be demonstrated to students; (2) Knowledge of Digitization of scientific content in the form of animation, simulation, games, podcasts, etc.; (3) Aptitude towards science communication.

Selection Committee B2 – Vacancy Codes 5922614 to 5922631 and 5922639 (20 vacancies)

• 5922617 (Project Associate II) – Desirable: Experience in molecular and cell biology techniques, mammalian cell culture, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, fluorescence/confocal microscopy, and flow cytometry. Knowledge of bioinformatics, transcriptomics, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and disease-model-based research would be an added advantage.
• 5922623 (Project Associate II) – Essential: Masters/ Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences / MVSc / Animal Sciences OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent. And 2 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services. OR ii) Masters / Integrated Masters in Engineering or Technology from recognized University.
• 5922626, 5922627, 5922628, 5922629, 5922630 and 5922631 (Senior Project Associate) – Essential, the same for all six codes: (i) Master’s/ Integrated Master’s in any branch of Life Sciences or Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences / MVSc or Animal Sciences OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent and 3 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR (ii) Master’s / Integrated Master’s in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent OR Doctoral Degree in Science / Pharma / MD / MS from a recognized University or equivalent and 2 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
• 5922626 – Desirable: The candidate should be familiar with test facility procedures, inspection and audit processes, change control, document and records management, and review of raw data and study reports. Knowledge of the receipt, identification, characterization, storage, handling, dispensing, accountability, traceability, and documentation of test and reference items will be desirable. Prior experience in a GLP-certified / preclinical research or testing facility, and regulatory compliance will be highly preferred.
• 5922627 – Desirable: The candidate should have hands-on experience or sound knowledge in analytical and bioanalytical techniques relevant to preclinical studies. The candidate should be familiar with analytical method development and validation, sample preparation, chromatographic techniques (HPLC/UPLC), LC-MS/MS, spectrophotometry and other instrumental analytical techniques. Knowledge of pharmacokinetic/toxicokinetic sample analysis, calibration and quality control procedures, data acquisition and interpretation, SOPs, method validation, raw data documentation, and equipment calibration/maintenance will be highly desirable.
• 5922628 – Desirable: The candidate should have hands-on experience or sound knowledge in preclinical pathology, haematology, and clinical biochemistry investigations. The candidate should be familiar with sample collection, processing and analysis of blood, serum and plasma; hematological parameters; clinical chemistry/biochemical assays; tissue processing, histopathology, staining and microscopic evaluation. Knowledge of automated hematology and clinical chemistry analyzers, biochemical assays, data interpretation, SOPs, study protocols, and raw data documentation will be highly desirable.
• 5922629 – Desirable: The candidate should have hands-on experience or demonstrated knowledge in preclinical toxicology and Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK). The candidate should be familiar with animal handling and dosing, toxicity study design, pharmacokinetic/toxicokinetic studies, sample collection and processing, bioanalytical techniques (HPLC/LC-MS/MS), and the interpretation and documentation of toxicological and pharmacokinetic data. Experience in a GLP-certified/preclinical research facility will be highly desirable.
• 5922630 – Desirable: The candidate should possess knowledge or experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, system management, data security, and computerized systems. The candidate should be familiar with data integrity, user access management, system validation, audit trails, electronic records, data backup and recovery, and cybersecurity. Knowledge of Computerized System Validation (CSV), IT SOPs, system maintenance, troubleshooting, software/hardware management, database administration, and secure data archival will be desirable.
• 5922631 – Desirable: The candidate should have experience or sound knowledge of genetic toxicology and in vitro/in vivo genotoxicity testing. The candidate should be familiar with Ames bacterial reverse mutation assay, in vitro micronucleus assay, chromosomal aberration assay, and in vivo micronucleus/comet assays. Knowledge of cell culture, molecular biology techniques, animal handling, sample processing, microscopy, data analysis, SOPs, study protocols, and raw data documentation will be highly desirable.
• 5922639 (Project Associate II) – Desirable: Master’s degree in any branch of Biological Sciences/Life Sciences or allied disciplines, with basic knowledge in cell culture and biochemical and biophysical techniques, including protein estimation, Western blotting, ELISA, microscopy, and other routine laboratory assays.

What to Bring

Bring the duly filled Application Form in the prescribed format, which can be downloaded from the link in the notice (see Important Links). Also bring the following documents as applicable, each in original and as a self-attested copy:

• Matriculation Pass Certificate / Admit card in support of your date of birth.
• All mark-sheets and certificates regarding educational qualification (since Matriculation).
• No Objection Certificate from the employer, if employed.
• Final Mark Sheet of B.Sc / M.Sc / M.Tech / M.Pharm degree or Ph.D award certificate.
• Documentary proof of passing NET/NET(LS)/GATE/Equivalent.
• One Passport size photograph.
• Caste certificate (wherever applicable).

Important Instructions

• A candidate applying for several vacancies that fall under different Selection Committees (B1, B2, C1) must submit a separate application form for each Committee. Write all the relevant vacancy codes in the space provided on each form.
• Reporting time is 08:45 A.M. and the entry gate closes at 10:00 A.M. on 3 November 2026.
• The positions are initially for the tenure shown against each vacancy code. An extension may be considered based on project requirements and the recommendation of the Review Committee, in accordance with the applicable CSIR rules governing the engagement of Project Staff.
• The tenure is co-terminus with the project. Under no circumstances can the total tenure exceed six years, including engagement in all CSIR labs.
• Performance will be reviewed periodically. Unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination without any notice or reason.
• The engagement is purely temporary. It does not confer any right or claim, implicit or explicit, to regularization or absorption against any IICB / CSIR post.
• The number of positions (around 41) may increase or decrease.
• The Institute reserves the right of selection or rejection of a candidature, including cancellation of the advertisement, without assigning any reason whatsoever.
