Eligibility Criteria
Only regular employees working in the Engineering Department of East Central Railway are eligible to apply. Clerical employees are not eligible.
- Employees working in the same Grade Pay of ₹4,600 or Pay Level 7 are eligible.
- If suitable employees in Level 7 are unavailable, employees working in Grade Pay ₹4,200 or Pay Level 6 may be considered.
- Employees working one grade or level below the advertised post must have completed at least two years of regular service.
- Financial upgradation received under MACP will not be treated as the substantive grade for deciding eligibility.
- Employees who previously worked as instructors can apply only after completing one year from the date they left the training centre.

Age Limit
The candidate must be below 58 years of age on the date the notification was issued. The age condition is prescribed according to RBE No. 104/2023 dated 4 September 2023.

Pay Scale and Teaching Allowance

Selected employees will receive a Teaching Allowance equal to 12% of their Basic Pay while working as Instructor, subject to the applicable Railway Board instructions.

Selection Process
The selection will carry a total of 100 marks and include the following stages:

Tenure of Appointment
The selected employee will be posted at the Zonal Railway Training Institute, Muzaffarpur, on a tenure basis for a maximum period of five years.
If the employee’s performance is found unsatisfactory, the administration may return the employee to their parent unit before completion of the tenure. The employee’s lien will remain maintained in the parent department, division or railway.
