Who Can Apply

Essential Qualification

• M.Tech / M.E. / Ph.D in Engineering / Technology, with B.Tech in Biomedical / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation or equivalent and at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

आवेदक को इंजीनियरिंग या टेक्नोलॉजी में M.Tech/M.E./Ph.D होना चाहिए और B.Tech बायोमेडिकल या संबंधित क्षेत्र में होना चाहिए, साथ ही कम से कम एक SCI जर्नल में शोध पत्र प्रकाशित होना अनिवार्य है।

Essential Experience

• (i) 3 years Research / Industrial / Academic experience after M.Tech / M.E.
• (ii) for Ph.D candidates experience is not essential.

M.Tech या M.E. के बाद कम से कम 3 साल का शोध या औद्योगिक अनुभव जरूरी है, लेकिन Ph.D धारकों के लिए अनुभव अनिवार्य नहीं है।

Desirable Experience

• Experience in Research and Development on Medical Devices / Industrial / Academic experience such as Product Design, Finite element analysis, Computational fluid dynamics, Prototyping, Medical device development and testing, Quality system documentation.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 35 years as on 01.11.2026.

Pay and Tenure

Selected candidates will receive monthly emoluments of Rs. 58,000/- + 18% HRA. The appointment is initially for a period of 6 months and is likely to be extended upto 13.06.2029.

SCTIMST Research Associate I Job Description

Research & Development of medical device for minimally invasive cardiovascular applications involving: product design, computer aided design, analysis such as FEM, CFD, prototyping, in vitro testing, in vivo testing, technology transfer, documentation.

1. Eligible candidates are required to apply ONLINE through Institute website (https://www.sctimst.ac.in/Recruitment/).
2. Upload scanned copies of certificates to prove age, qualifications, experience and a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate (for OBC candidates) / Income and Asset certificate (for EWS candidates) in the prescribed format applicable for employment in Central Govt. Institutions issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar.

आवेदन ऑनलाइन करना होगा और जरूरी प्रमाण पत्र जैसे उम्र, योग्यता, अनुभव के साथ OBC या EWS के लिए मान्य प्रमाण पत्र भी अपलोड करना जरूरी है।

Selection and Interview

The applications will be screened and eligible candidates will be called for an Interview to be conducted at the Biomedical Technology Wing of the Institute at Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 012. Intimation regarding the schedule of interview will be sent to their email id provided in the ONLINE application form. Depending on the number of candidates, a written test of a qualifying nature will be conducted for initial screening and only qualified candidates will be called for interview. Marks obtained in the written test, if conducted, will not be counted for final ranking.

• Experience wherever prescribed means experience gained AFTER acquiring the prescribed essential qualification.
