Posts and Eligibility

There is one post: Research Associate under the HORTSAP pest surveillance scheme of Maharashtra Govt. The required qualification is M.Sc. or Ph.D. (Plant Pathology/Agril. Entomology) and knowledge of computer with MS-CIT. The age limit is not more than 40 years, with relaxation as per rule for SC, ST, DT, NT and OBC candidates. The notice does not print an “as on” date for age or the number of years of relaxation.

Only candidates who hold the essential qualifications will be interviewed. Candidates who cannot produce their essential qualification certificates as on the date of the interview will not be allowed to attend the interview. Honorarium and Terms of Appointment

The honorarium column of the notice ends with “(up to 31st March, 2027 only)”. The rate of HRA is not specified in the notice, and no accommodation will be provided.

• The position is purely temporary and contractual. It runs co-terminus with the project and depends on satisfactory performance.
• The appointment gives no claim, implicit or explicit, on any University post. The selected Research Associate has no right to claim regular appointment or absorption at the University.
• The Research Associate is a full-time worker and is not entitled to any regular leave. The administrative, financial and disciplinary regulations of the University apply, and attendance is kept in an attendance register.
• The appointee must join physically at the office within seven days from the date the order is issued. If not, the order will be treated as cancelled.
• After appointment, the candidate must submit a statement accepting the terms and conditions on a Rs. 100/- bond paper.
• The appointee may be discontinued at any time, without notice, for unsatisfactory work or any other valid ground.
• A Research Associate who leaves the post must give one month’s prior notice. If not, one month’s salary will not be paid, or salary for the period by which the notice falls short will be recovered. This also applies if the appointee resigns before the tenure ends.

What Happens on the Day

1. Report for a personal interview to the Head, Department of Plant Pathology, PGI, Dr. PDKV, Akola, on 29 October 2026 at 11.00 AM sharp. No candidate will be allowed after 12.00 pm.
2. Show all relevant certificates in original to the officer concerned for verification.
3. Attend the personal interview. If there are a large number of candidates, the interview may continue on the next day.

Separate interview call letters will not be sent. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
