Post-Wise Qualification

Superintendent

For the prescribed qualification under the Recruitment Rules, candidates should possess:

• First Class Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline; or
• Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Officials applying through deputation must hold an analogous post or have the prescribed regular service in the feeder grade specified in the Recruitment Rules.

Technical Assistant

Candidates should possess any one of the following qualifications in the relevant field:

• First Class B.E., B.Tech. or MCA
• First Class Diploma in Engineering
• First Class Bachelor’s degree in Science
• Master’s degree in Science with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade

Deputation applicants must satisfy the analogous-post or feeder-grade service conditions prescribed in the NIT Recruitment Rules.

Technician (Selection Grade-II)

The prescribed educational routes include:

• Senior Secondary/Class 12 with Science and at least 60% marks; or
• Senior Secondary/Class 12 with at least 50% marks and a one-year or longer ITI course in the appropriate trade; or
• Class 10 with at least 60% marks and a two-year ITI certificate in the appropriate trade; or
• Three-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant field.

Applicants must also satisfy the applicable experience and feeder-grade conditions for deputation or short-term contract.

Junior Assistant

Candidates should have passed Class 12 from a recognized board and possess:

• Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute; and
• Proficiency in computer word processing and spreadsheets.

Proficiency in other computer skills is desirable.

Age Limit

The applicable age limit will depend on the mode of appointment and the NIT Recruitment Rules 2019. Age, qualification and experience will be calculated as of 4 November 2026. Relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwD and Ex-servicemen candidates will be provided according to Government of India rules.

Salary and Pay Level

The appointments will initially be for one year and may be extended according to the institute’s requirements.

Application Fee

The non-refundable fee must be paid online. Proof of fee payment must be attached to the printed application after writing the applicant’s name on the receipt.

Selection Process

The selection process will include:

1. Screening or shortlisting of applications
2. Written Test in the relevant field or trade
3. Trade Test in the relevant specialization
4. Document verification

Based on written-test marks, candidates up to six times the number of vacancies may be shortlisted for the Trade Test. The final merit list will be prepared based on the Written Test and Trade Test.
