The Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Silchar (Assam), has invited applications from Indian citizens for one temporary Project Associate-I post in the DRDO-AR&DB sponsored project “Uncertainty quantification of multiscale flutter analysis of composites”. Who Can Apply

Essential Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science & Engineering, Production Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering, OR
• M.E/M.Tech or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering and related branches of Mechanical Engineering, from a recognized University.
• Other terms are according to DRDO-AR&DB guidelines.

Desirable Qualification

• Expertise or strong interest in Design, Manufacturing, Production, Tribology or Material Science, and hands-on experience in design and simulation, development and testing of composite, will be given preference.
• Throughout First Class in academic career is preferred.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The age limit is 35 Years (as on closing date of application). SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD candidates will get relaxation in qualification and age as per Government of India Rules and Regulations. The notice does not print the relaxation in years.

Pay and Tenure

Salary and emoluments are as per DST norms related to GATE and Non-GATE candidates. The notice prints no rupee amount. The post is temporary and lasts 3 years or until the project is completed, whichever is earlier. Extension is based on a performance review every 6 months. Selected candidates must sign an agreement at the time of joining.

1. Fill the application form in the “Format of Application for Project Associate-I” printed on pages 2 and 3 of the notice.
2. Sign the filled-up form and scan it.
3. Email the signed scanned copy, along with C.V and all other relevant documents, to the Principal Investigator at [email protected].
4. Write this subject line: “Application for the post of Project Associate-I under DRDO-AR&DB project ARDB/SP/4035/2129”.
5. Send the email so that it is received by 20 November 2026. The notice says there is no need to send a hard copy.
