The institute is looking for accomplished professionals across 13 departments, from Civil Engineering to VLSI Design and Systems Engineering. Honorarium reaches a ceiling of Rs. 1,80,000 a month for those designated Adjunct Professor. • Civil services (IAS/IPS/officials of Central or State Government), professional councils and statutory bodies
• Reputed overseas academic, research and industrial organizations, with a demonstrated interest in Indian issues

Mandatory Requirements

• Must be an accomplished professional in the chosen field, comparable to at least the top one third of the regular faculty in professional expertise and reputation.
• The candidate’s association must add value to the academic programs, students, Department or Institute.
• A candidate from an industry or research organization should have domain knowledge of significant value.
• Educational qualifications and degree certificates should be from recognized Universities or Institutes.

The official notification does not specify the minimum educational qualification. For a candidate from an industry or research organization, a Post-graduate or Ph.D. degree may not be an essential qualification.

Desirable Experience

Normally, at least 10 years of experience in the relevant field is desirable. In emerging and cutting-edge technologies, persons with more than 5 years of experience can also be considered.

Selection Process

1. Short-listing of applications, using criteria that may be higher than those advertised and may vary from department to department.
2. Presentation and interview before the Selection Committee, on a date and at a place notified separately to candidates.
3. Verification of all original documents at the interview.
4. Medical examination by the institute’s Medical Board, Senior Medical Officer or Medical Officer, which may be undertaken before joining.

Meeting the advertised requirements does not by itself entitle a candidate to an interview. The institute may restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit based on qualifications, experience and merit. The decision of the competent authority is final.
