National Institute of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala) has notified 1 vacancy for the Junior Research Fellow / Project Associate-1 post on a project-based and purely temporary basis. The position is initially for 12 months and extendable up to 36 months, co-terminus with the project, with a pay of Rs. 33,000 to Rs. 40,700 per month. Applicants holding an M.Sc or M.Tech in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Polymer Science, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Materials Science and Engineering, or Environmental Science can apply. Candidates must fill the application form including a photograph and signed scan copy of educational qualifications, research publications and a statement of interest, and send it by Speed Post or through e-mail on or before 6 November 2026 at 10:30 AM, with the interview scheduled for 6 November 2026.

Who Can Apply

Candidates applying for JRF must possess GATE/NET or equivalent qualifications, while Project Associate-1 applicants do not require GATE/NET.

यह पद उन उम्मीदवारों के लिए है जिनके पास संबंधित विषयों में मास्टर डिग्री हो और सामान्य तथा ओबीसी उम्मीदवारों के लिए न्यूनतम 55% अंक, जबकि आरक्षित वर्ग के लिए 50% अंक जरूरी हैं। JRF पद के लिए GATE/NET अनिवार्य है, जबकि PA पद पर यह आवश्यक नहीं है।

Pay and Tenure

The position is purely on temporary basis and governed by the administrative rules and conditions of ANRF and the Research & Consultancy Cell, NIT Agartala. The project duration is a maximum of three years, initially granted for one year and extendable up to three years, co-terminus with the project. Monthly emoluments include Rs. 37,000 plus 10% HRA (total Rs. 40,700 per month) for JRF candidates with GATE/NET or equivalent qualifications, and Rs. 30,000 plus 10% HRA (total Rs. 33,000 per month) for PA candidates without GATE/NET. Selected candidates will also have the option to register for the PhD program at the Department of Chemistry, NIT Agartala, provided they meet the eligibility requirements as per the Ph.D rules 2018 of NIT Agartala.

Selection and Interview

Only shortlisted candidates will be informed through email for the interview. The interview will be held in hybrid mode in the Department of Chemistry at NIT Agartala on 06.11.2026 at 10:30 AM. No TA/DA is permissible for appearing in the interview or joining upon selection.
