About NGT Recruitment 2026

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) Principal Bench is situated at Faridkot House, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi-110001. Established for effective and expeditious disposal of cases relating to environmental protection and conservation, it operates under the administrative framework connected with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India, exercising jurisdiction through its Principal Bench and zonal benches.

Where and How to Send

Interested candidates may submit their bio-data in the prescribed proforma (enclosed) along with relevant documents towards educational qualification, experience along with copies of ACRs of the last five years, vigilance clearance, integrity certificate etc. addressed to the “Registrar General, National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench, Faridkot House, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi-110001” through proper channel so as to reach on or before 16.11.2026.

Incomplete, unsigned, and the application received not on prescribed proforma and after the last date of receipt of applications shall be rejected summarily, without any notice to the candidate.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

डिप्टी रजिस्ट्रार के दो पद हैं जिनका वेतन स्तर 12 है, जबकि असिस्टेंट रजिस्ट्रार का एक पद है जिसका वेतन स्तर 11 है। दोनों पदों के लिए विधि स्नातक होना जरूरी है।

Deputy Registrar

• Vacancies & Place of Posting: 02 posts (01 – Chennai, 01 – Bhopal).
• Educational Qualification: Officers possessing Bachelors degree in Law from a recognised university and holding; (a) analogous post on regular basis in Central Government or State Government or courts or tribunals; OR (b) post in Central Government or State Government or courts or tribunals, with five years regular service in pay band -3, Rs. 15600-39100/- with grade pay of Rs. 6600/- i.e. Level-11 in the Pay Matrix, as per 7th CPC.

डिप्टी रजिस्ट्रार बनने के लिए उम्मीदवार के पास विधि में स्नातक डिग्री होनी चाहिए और वह केंद्र या राज्य सरकार, कोर्ट या ट्रिब्यूनल में समान पद पर नियमित सेवा में होना चाहिए या वेतन स्तर 11 में कम से कम 5 वर्षों का अनुभव होना चाहिए।

Assistant Registrar

• Vacancies & Place of Posting: 01 post at Pune.
• Educational Qualification: Officers possessing a Bachelors degree in Law from a recognized university and holding: (a) Analogous post on regular basis in Central Government or State Government or courts or tribunals; OR (b) Post in Central Government or State Government or courts or tribunals with five years regular service in pay band-2, Rs. 9300-34800/- with grade pay of Rs. 5400/- i.e, Level 9 in the pay matrix; OR Six years regular service in grade pay of Rs. 4800/- i.e, Level 8 in the pay matrix; OR Seven years regular service in grade pay of Rs. 4600/- i.e, Level 7 in the pay matrix; OR Ten years regular service in grade pay of Rs. 4200/- i.e, Level 6 in the pay matrix.

असिस्टेंट रजिस्ट्रार पद के लिए विधि स्नातक के साथ विभिन्न वेतन स्तरों में केंद्रीय या राज्य सरकार या न्यायालयों में 5 से 10 वर्षों तक की नियमित सेवा जरूरी है, जो अनुभव के आधार पर पद के लिए पात्रता तय करता है।

Deputation Rules & Age Limit

• Age Limit: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall not be exceeding fifty-six years as on the closing date of receipt of application.
• Period of Deputation: Period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organisation or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily be three years.
• Feeder Category Restriction: The departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly, deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion.
• Pre-2006 Service Calculation: For the purpose of appointment on deputation basis, the service rendered on a regular basis by an officer prior to 1st January, 2006 or the date from which the revised pay structure based on the recommendation of the Sixth Central Pay Commission has been extended, shall be deemed to be the services rendered on the corresponding grade pay or pay scale extended based on the recommendation of the said Pay Commission except where there has been merger of more than one pre-revised scale of pay into grade with a common grade pay or pay scale, and where this benefit will extend only for the post, for which that grade pay or pay scale is the normal replacement grade without any upgradation.

Enclosures

The following documents must be attached with the application form and forwarded through the proper channel:

• Experience documents.
• Copies of ACRs of the last five years.
• Vigilance clearance.
• Integrity certificate.
• Certified that the particulars furnished by the candidate have been verified from service record and found correct, and no vigilance case is pending or contemplated against the officer.
• Undertaking that if the officer is selected, he / she shall be relieved within 15 days of receipt of appointment letter.

आवेदन के साथ शिक्षा, अनुभव, पिछले पांच वर्षों के सेवा मूल्यांकन रिपोर्ट, वीजिलेंस क्लियरेंस, और अखंडता प्रमाण पत्र अनिवार्य रूप से भेजना होगा। चयनित अधिकारी को नियुक्ति पत्र मिलने के बाद 15 दिन के अंदर विभाग से मुक्त होना होगा।

• The Competent Authority reserves the right either to fill up the posts or not to proceed for appointment without assigning any reason thereof.
• The general terms and conditions of deputation in terms of OM No.6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay-II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time shall be made applicable as notified by the DoPT, Govt. of India.
