The Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, is filling 7 contract posts in the ICMR-funded PReMI Study for a likely duration of three years. About JIPMER

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is a medical education and research institute in Puducherry. These posts are part of a research project run by an outside funder, ICMR. The project is the PReMI Study (Preventing Premature Myocardial Infarction), a community-digital intervention to reduce cardiometabolic risk among young high-risk adults in South India. The Project Investigator is Dr Venkatachalam J of the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine.

Pay and Tenure

All the posts pay a consolidated monthly amount and no other allowances. The notice also says the consolidated salary may vary from time to time, and no allowance or facility will be given beyond it. Each post has a likely duration of three years.

The posts are purely on contract for an externally sponsored project. The person engaged will have no claim to any regular post in JIPMER at any time. The position lasts only as long as the project and depends entirely on outside funding for the project. The Project Investigator may extend or cut short the engagement.

Project Technical Support – III

• Coordinate day-to-day field activities and study operations.
• Supervise field staff and support household screening and participant recruitment.
• Coordinate and monitor delivery of study interventions and follow-up activities.

Selection and Interview

Candidates are shortlisted on the details in their application, CV and documentary proof. The list of eligible candidates will also be shown on the JIPMER website. The final selection will be based on the CV, the application and a written test/interview.

According to the notice’s evaluation criteria, these stages may follow the review of the application form. The notice does not say which areas each stage will cover.
