JIPMER Recruitment 2026 is for one Project Nurse post. The post is on contract in an ICMR-funded research project in the Medical Oncology department of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry/Karaikal. The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is a medical education and research institute at Dhanwantri Nagar, Puducherry-6, as its letterhead shows. Who Can Apply

Essential Qualification

• 12th Pass in Science Subjects and BSc Nursing or its equivalent
• Registered Nurse with any State Nursing Council
• Fluency (speaking, reading and writing) in Tamil, because the project involves interaction with patients and taking their consent

Desirable

• Experience working with hematology or oncology patients
• Experience in clinical research and data collection
• Any kind of research experience

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 30 years as on the last date of receipt of applications (5 November 2026). The application form asks for your age on that date in years, months and days.

• Qualification and experience should be in a relevant discipline or field and from a reputed institution or organisation.

Pay and Tenure

• The pay is a consolidated remuneration of Rs 33,600 per month. This includes HRA, and no other allowances are payable.
• The consolidated salary of the post may vary from time to time. No allowance or facility other than the consolidated salary will be given.
• The position is purely on contract for an externally sponsored project. The person engaged will have no claim to any regular post in JIPMER at any time.
• The position lasts only for the duration of the project and depends entirely on external funding for the project.
• The engagement may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of the Project Investigator.
• The notice says the post is not being considered for a possible extramural project PhD in future.

JIPMER Project Nurse Job Description

The notice lists the nature of work and responsibilities as:

• Collection of blood samples, and information from patient records
• Data collection from patients
• Data entry in the database
• Helping in management of inventory of consumables

The application form also says the project work involves travel to the field or to other centres for the study. Applicants must state whether they are willing to do this.

1. Print the application form attached to the notice (REC-03: Application Format) on A4 paper and fill it in block letters with a blue pen.
2. Affix a recent passport-size photo in the space provided. Do not staple it.
3. Complete every part of the form: personal details, any SC/ST/OBC status (attach proof), the criminal case or disciplinary action question, Tamil and other language proficiency, educational qualifications from SSLC/Matriculation onwards, previous employment, a description of your experience in up to 500 words, research experience or publications, willingness to travel, contact details of previous employers, and the signed declaration.
4. Scan the filled form together with your CV and supporting documents into one PDF.
5. Name the PDF in the format “Candidate name_Post-name_year_application” (the notice’s example is “James_DEO_2023_application”).
6. Email the PDF to [email protected], with the name of the post applied for (Project Nurse) in the email subject line.
7. Send the complete application by 5 November 2026, up to 5 pm.

A candidate applying for two or more different posts must fill in a separate application form for each post and send each one, scanned with its enclosures, in a separate email.

Selection and Interview

Applicants will be shortlisted on the details given in the application, CV and documentary proof. The list of eligible candidates will also be displayed on the JIPMER website. The final selection will be based on the CV, the application and a written test/interview.

• Evaluation stages: after the application forms are evaluated, the notice lists the recruitment process as a written test, a skill test and an interview. It does not give the areas each stage will cover.
• Shortlisting: only shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and/or interview. If the number of applications is very large, stricter criteria than those listed may be used to decide eligibility.
• Interview mode: the interview may be held in person or by videoconferencing, at the discretion of the Principal Investigator. For a video interview, each candidate must arrange a suitable device (computer, laptop or mobile) with audio and camera, plus an adequate internet connection.
• Schedule: the date and time of the written exam and interview will be notified one week in advance.
• The decision of the Project Investigator will be final.

Important Instructions

• Applications not in the prescribed format will not be processed or accepted.
