Relaxation in Educational Marks

For certain notified disciplines governed by the UGC Gazette Notification dated 18 July 2018, DTU permits a 5% relaxation at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels for eligible SC/ST/OBC (NCL-Delhi) and PwBD candidates.

The advertisement also provides a relaxation from 55% to 50% for eligible PhD degree holders who obtained their Master’s degree before 19 September 1991.

DTU Academic and Research Screening Score 2026

The university evaluates candidates using Academic Record and Experience and Research Performance scores for shortlisting.

The academic record is initially assessed using a 50-point schedule and scaled down to 20 points. Experience and research performance are initially assessed using a separate 50-point schedule and scaled down to 40 points.

DTU Interview Shortlisting Rules

The university normally calls 10 candidates for the first vacancy and five candidates for each subsequent vacancy for interview, subject to recruitment requirements.

Only eligible experience and research achievements supported by the required documents will be considered.

Teaching and Industrial Experience

Eligible teaching experience includes regular faculty service or qualifying contract/ad hoc faculty service at the equivalent level in recognized higher education institutions, subject to the prescribed minimum commitment.

Industrial experience must be in an equivalent management-level position in an eligible organization.

Experience is counted from the date the applicant becomes eligible under the Recruitment Rules. The notification specifies a minimum commitment of 11 months per year and does not count individual employment periods shorter than six months.

Research Experience

Eligible research experience in R&D organizations or institutions is considered under the notified scoring criteria. The duration of a full-time PhD programme is excluded from the prescribed research-experience calculation.

DTU Recruitment 2026 Reservation Rules

Reservation benefits are available according to applicable Government of NCT of Delhi instructions and the conditions specified in the advertisement.

OBC Reservation

The advertisement permits OBC reservation benefits only to applicants meeting the prescribed OBC Non-Creamy Layer – Delhi requirements.
