Age Limit
The age limit is a maximum of 57 years as on the date of notification.

Educational Qualification
- A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned / allied / relevant disciplines.
- A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed.

Experience and Research
- A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution / Industry.
- A minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- A total research score of Seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix, Table 2.

Relaxation in Marks and Grade Equivalence
- SC/ST candidates get a 5% relaxation at the Master’s level, from 55% to 50% of the marks.
- Ph.D. degree holders who passed their Master Degree prior to 19 September 1991 get a 5% relaxation, from 55% to 50% of the marks.
- ‘B’ in the seven point scale with UGC letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F is regarded as equivalent to 55% whenever the grading system is followed.
SC/ST अभ्यर्थियों को मास्टर्स स्तर पर 5% अंक छूट मिलेगी, यानी 50% अंक भी मान्य होंगे। Ph.D. धारक जिन्होंने मास्टर्स 19 सितंबर 1991 से पहले किया हो, उन्हें भी छूट मिलेगी। ग्रेड ‘B’ को 55% के बराबर माना जाएगा।

Selection Process
The selection procedure will be as per the decision of the Syndicate of Bharathiar University. Applicants should be prepared to come for an interview at their own cost. The University will follow a transparency procedure as per Government Letter No.7582/K2/2021-1, dated 09.06.2021.

Service Conditions
- The selected candidate will be required to join duty immediately.
- On joining, the candidate must enter into an agreement with the University in accordance with its laws.
- Pay protection will not be guaranteed in any manner to candidates already in service.

A No Objection Certificate from the Appropriate Authority / Management must be produced at the time of interview.

Other Conditions
- Applications received after the last date and applications with incomplete particulars will be summarily rejected.
