AMU Senior Resident Eligibility 2026

Educational qualification (all three departments): As per NMC norms/Residency Scheme, adopted by AMU.

Nationality: Indian nationals, including Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Cardholders under Section-7A of the Citizenship Act, 1955.

Qualifications, experience and other eligibility conditions will be reckoned as on the last date of submission of the Application Form. Any relaxation in the percentage of marks will be given as per the rule of the Government of India, wherever applicable. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum, so meeting them does not by itself entitle an applicant to be called for interview.

Rules for PwD candidates

Posts earmarked for PwD candidates are open only to persons with a relevant disability of at least 40%. They must upload a Disability Certificate issued by the Competent Authority on the prescribed Proforma (Appendix-I). The University’s Medical Board examines the claim for selected applicants before the appointment letter is issued. The applicable categories are:

• Blindness and low vision (VH)
• Deaf and hard of hearing (HH)
• Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims and muscular dystrophy (OH)
• Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness
• Multiple disabilities from amongst the above categories, including deaf-blindness

Selection Process

Selection is through a Local Selection Committee of eligible candidates, held on 25 November 2026 in the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, AMU, Aligarh. Candidates report half an hour before their scheduled time.

The University may limit the number of applicants called for interview to a reasonable number, and may set up a committee to scrutinize and short-list applications. It will not correspond with applicants who are not short-listed. If a mistake in scrutiny or selection is found at any stage, even after an interview or appointment letter is issued, the University may modify, withdraw or cancel the selection process.

• Appointments are on a purely temporary basis, subject to termination at any time without notice or assignment of reason.
• The University may have selected applicants examined by an Internal Medical Board.
• The University may alter, correct or add to the advertisement, or cancel it in full or in part, without assigning any reason. Any amendment or corrigendum will be published only on the Careers Portal.

How to Apply for AMU Senior Resident Recruitment 2026

1. Fill in the Application Form online at the AMU Careers Portal, following the advertisement and the User Manual on the portal.
2. Fill a separate form for each post listed under a different serial number.
3. After submitting, print the PDF of the form on A-4 size paper.
4. Sign the printout and paste a recent front-facing photograph at the designated place.
5. Attach self-attested copies of the documents listed below.
6. Write the post applied for, the advertisement number and its date on the top-left side of the cover.

• No Objection Certificate from the present employer, if employed, and relieving orders of all previous employers
• Certificate of NET, JRF, SLET/SET, CSIR etc., as the case may be
• M. Phil/Ph.D. degree, wherever applicable

Applicants from a Madrasa background may use a certificate equivalent to High School or Graduation if it was obtained from Madaris/Institutions recognized by the University, wherever applicable.

Applications received late, sent on plain paper, left incomplete or missing the required documents shall be summarily rejected. No document or information can be added after the last date of submission.
