Merit List and Tie-Breaking Rules
यहाँ Merit List के निर्माण और टाई ब्रेकिंग नियमों के बारे में बताया गया है जो उम्मीदवारों की रैंक निर्धारित करते हैं।
After individual results are released, ASTU compiles a consolidated merit list, which is what actually determines counselling eligibility and seat allotment not just your raw score. Since the exam is held in a single shift, no percentile normalisation is applied; ranking is based directly on marks scored.
In cases where two or more candidates secure identical total marks, ASTU follows a defined tie-breaking order:
- First, the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) aggregate marks of Class 12 are compared.
- If the tie persists, the combined aggregate of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English in Class 12 is considered.
- If candidates remain tied even after this, the matter is resolved at the discretion of the Chairman of the Selection Committee.
The merit list is generally published both as an overall list and separately for each reserved category.
