The recruitment follows a two-stage competitive examination process: a common preliminary examination and separate main examinations for Group-A and Group-B.

1. Online Application: Candidates register and submit the application through OJAS.
2. Preliminary Examination: A common 150-mark objective examination is conducted for Group-A and Group-B.

Group-A Gujarati Main Examination Syllabus

The Gujarati descriptive paper carries 100 marks and includes essay writing, expansion of ideas, précis writing, prose comprehension, press notes, letter writing, discussion articles, reports, translation and Gujarati grammar.

Group-A English Main Examination Syllabus

The English descriptive paper carries 100 marks and covers essay writing, formal letters, report writing, interpretation of visual information, formal speech, précis writing, reading comprehension, grammar and translation.

Group-A General Studies Syllabus
