The Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has invited applications from Indian nationals only for one Research Associate – I (Postdoctoral Researcher) post, purely on a temporary contract basis, in the Ministry of Jal Shakti-funded project “Development of Low-Carbon Alternative Materials for Dam Construction and Rehabilitation in Various Climatic Conditions”. The pay is ₹58,000 + HRA per month (or based on experience based on DST norms) and the essential qualification is a PhD in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. Pay and Tenure

The consolidated emoluments are ₹58,000 + HRA per month (or based on experience based on DST norms). The notice calls the salary provisional, subject to verification of documents after selection. If the required experience or qualifications are not met, the staff may be hired at a lower salary as per DST norms.

The appointment is purely on a temporary contract basis. The duration is an initial period of 2 months, extendable up to a year based on satisfactory performance. Selection and Interview

The notice describes an interview. It is tentatively scheduled for the fourth week of November 2026, either online or in person at the Department of Civil Engineering, IISc Bengaluru. The interview date and exact venue will be sent separately by email to shortlisted candidates.
