Two Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions are open in the research group of Dr. Shourya Dutta Gupta, Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering (MSME), Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, with ICMR as the sponsoring agency. About the Institute and Research Group

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad is located at Kandi, Sangareddy, Telangana. The two JRF positions sit in the research group of Dr. Shourya Dutta Gupta in the Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering (MSME) department, and the project is sponsored by ICMR. Who Can Apply

The notice lists four alternative routes for the essential qualification. A candidate needs to meet any one of them:

• Candidates with Master’s (M.E./M.Tech. (or equivalent)) with first class, OR

• B.Tech. students from CFIs with a CGPA of 8.0 or more are eligible to apply (no GATE required), OR

Desirable Qualifications

Candidates with one or more of the following skills are encouraged to apply:

• Optical sensor (or biosensor) development
• Nanoparticle synthesis (or nanofabrication) and characterization
• Spectroscopy and imaging of biosensors
• Development of imaging/spectroscopic setups/platforms using Arduino/ESP32 (or any others)
• Familiarity with coding in python/MATLAB (or any other language), especially for GUI development

IIT Hyderabad JRF Job Description

The selected candidate would be involved in:

• Development of biosensors for eye disease diagnostics (and work closely with clinicians at LVPEI, Hyderabad).
• Development of imaging and spectroscopic platforms for sensors.
• Development of software platforms for system control, data acquisition, and visualization.
• Preparation of technical reports, publications, and patents arising from the project.
