Category-wise Vacancies

The number of vacancies may go up or down depending on what the company needs. If more people are needed within one year from the date of selection, JSBCCL may pick candidates from an extended merit list or panel. That panel can be up to twice the number of vacancies advertised.

JSBCCL Assistant Manager (Electrical) Eligibility 2026

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 40 years as on 31 May 2026. The notice calls this date the “closing date”. For candidates who have retired from State or Central Government or a PSU as Assistant Engineer (Electrical) on or before 31 May 2026, the limit is 64 years. Both age and post-qualification experience are counted as on 31 May 2026.

Educational Qualification

You need a full-time degree in Electrical engineering, or an equivalent, from a Government-recognised university or institute, with 60% aggregate marks. Your degree counts from the date the result was declared or the mark sheet was issued, and no relaxation is given on this. If your degree is graded in CGPA or OGPA, give the equivalent percentage under your university’s norms on the form. You must also produce a copy of those norms at document verification.

Essential Experience

You need 5 years of experience after your qualification, counted from the date you qualified. Under this heading the notice lists:

• External and internal electric works, HVAC, BMS works, data management and fire fighting systems in different types of buildings
• Designing and testing electrical systems and components
• Testing to make sure systems and components meet safety standards
• Troubleshooting and fixing technical problems while installing and maintaining electrical systems
• Documenting tests and the specifications of electrical components and systems
• Keeping up with new technologies, industry standards and regulations

Preferred

Proficiency in computers is preferred.

Age Relaxation

The upper age limit applies to general category candidates. Age relaxation for SC, ST and OBC candidates follows Government guidelines. These candidates must send a copy of their caste certificate with the application form.

Selection Process

1. Candidates are shortlisted based on their academic qualification and experience. If response is very high, JSBCCL may shortlist using revised eligibility criteria.
2. Shortlisted candidates are called for a Personal Interview. The list and interview dates are published on the website, which the notice prints as www.jsbccljharkhand.gov.in. Candidates are also told by email. No other method of contact is used.
3. The final selection depends on your interview performance and is subject to document verification. After that, the “Offer of Appointment” is issued.

If a candidate is not suitable for the post they applied for, JSBCCL may offer a suitable post at a lower level.

Service Conditions

• The job is on contract for a maximum of three years. It can be extended for further years if your performance is satisfactory.
• You may be posted anywhere in the state, as the company requires.
• Your appointment depends on a satisfactory medical certificate from a Govt. Hospital, to the standard JSBCCL sets. Your caste and character certificates must also be verified by the authorities concerned.
• Applying does not give you any right to be appointed.

1. Get the prescribed application form. You can download it from the JSBCCL website. You can also collect it from the JSBCCL office (3rd Floor, JSBCCL Building, Dhurwa, Ranchi) during office hours until 30 October 2026.
2. Fill in the form and your Bio-Data on A-4 size paper, strictly in the prescribed format.
3. Paste a recent self-attested passport-size photograph on the form and sign below it.

Documents and Conditions

• SC, ST and OBC candidates: send a copy of your caste certificate with the form. At the interview, produce the certificate in the prescribed format, issued by an officer not below the rank of SDM.
• If you work in a Government, Semi-Government or Public Sector body, or an Autonomous Body: apply through proper channel or produce an NOC. If you cannot get an NOC, you may give an undertaking at document verification that you will not claim service transfer benefits or pay protection. If selected, you must bring a relieving order when you join.
• If your name is spelled differently in different certificates: bring a certificate from the SDM or an equivalent officer. Women who changed their surname after marriage need a marriage certificate and a notarised affidavit.
• All original certificates must be produced at document verification. If you cannot produce them, you will be disqualified.
• Incomplete applications are rejected outright. You cannot add information after you submit.
• Keep your email ID active for at least one year. You cannot change it once you have entered it, and all correspondence is by email.
• Canvassing of any kind disqualifies you. Legal disputes fall under the courts at Ranchi.
