Who Can Apply

The notice gives the following eligibility for ITI Trade Apprentices (Lineman):

• The candidate must have passed the 10th class examination with at least 40% marks from a recognised Board, and must also hold a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade, issued by the National Council for Vocational Training/State Council for Vocational Training in that trade.
• The candidate must have completed the relevant ITI course.
• The candidate must have an Aadhaar Card. It is compulsory and is needed for online registration.

Age: as per the Apprenticeship Act 1961 and its amendments from time to time. Reservation: as per the Apprentice Act 1961 and its amendments from time to time.

Pay and Tenure

The seats are for a one-year apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 for session 2026-27. The stipend amount is not specified in the notice. The notice says the stipend details are on the BBMB website (bbmb.gov.in). The contracts of the selected candidates will be registered under the NAPS Portal. The notice also says that contracts for the 7 Lineman Apprentice seats will be issued as and when a vacancy arises, on the basis of the merit list. That merit list is valid up to 28.02.2027.

How to Apply for BBMB Lineman

Applications must be received online by the concerned office from 5 November 2026 to 3 December 2026 through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal, https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. No other mode of application will be accepted. You need your Aadhaar Card to register online.

Documents named in the notice (shortlisted candidates will be called to have them checked):

• 10th Mark sheet
• ITI Certificate and Marksheets (the certificate must be issued by NCVT/SCVT)
• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC, if applicable)
• Residence/Domicile certificate, if applicable
• Aadhaar Card

Selection and Interview

There is no interview and no written exam. Eligible candidates will be selected from the database of the apprenticeship portal (NAPS/NATS). Selection is based on a merit list prepared for all applicants, using the percentage of marks in matriculation (10th) and the ITI course:

Preference in Selection

• 25% of the seats available for each trade will be given to candidates who hold a residency certificate of the concerned districts of the State where the Grid Sub Station is located.
• If any of these reserved seats remain unfilled, they will go to candidates who hold a residency certificate of the State where the Grid Sub Station is located.
• If seats still remain unfilled, they will be filled through open merit.
• If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate gets preference.
• If the dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier is considered first.

चयन मेरिट सूची के आधार पर होगा जिसमें 10वीं के अंकों को 30% और ITI के अंकों को 70% महत्व दिया जाएगा। कोई लिखित परीक्षा या इंटरव्यू नहीं होगा। स्थानीय निवासियों को 25% सीटें आरक्षित हैं, जो खाली रहने पर राज्य के अन्य निवासियों को दी जाएंगी, फिर खुली मेरिट से भरी जाएंगी। समान अंक होने पर उम्र और फिर मैट्रिक की तारीख को प्राथमिकता दी जाएगी।

Important Instructions

• Candidates who, after finishing their education, have done apprenticeship training or are doing it now in any other establishment under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 should not apply.
• Candidates who are already registered and have trained under these schemes will not be considered and need not apply.
• Selection and deployment of apprentices depend on the detailed provisions of the Apprenticeship Act 1961 and its amendments, if any.
• The competent authority will decide the place of training based on administrative needs and the candidate’s suitability for the area under Construction Division, BBMB, Dhulkote. Requests for a specific place of posting are generally not considered.
• The result of the apprentice engagement will be uploaded on the BBMB websites through the office of the System Software Manager, BBMB, Chandigarh.
