Merit List Basis

BPSC prepared a combined merit list of 594 candidates on the basis of marks in the General Knowledge paper. If two candidates have the same marks, the candidate who is older by date of birth is placed higher. If the age is also the same, the candidate whose name comes first in alphabetical order in Devanagari script is placed higher.

Disability Verification

A total of 13 candidates in the Mains exam who claimed disability were sent to IGIMS, Patna for verification and assessment of disability percentage. As per the report received from IGIMS:

• 5 candidates were found to have disability below the 40% benchmark.
• 6 candidates did not appear for the disability examination, so their disability could not be assessed.
• The disability benefit is not allowed to these 11 candidates.

The selection for Assistant Section Officer followed these stages.

1. Preliminary Examination: Held on 10 September 2025. Candidates who qualified were called for the Mains exam.
2. Main Competitive Examination: Held on 27 February 2026 with General Hindi and General Knowledge papers. The merit list was prepared on the basis of General Knowledge marks.
3. Document Verification: 57 candidates were called for DV after the Mains result.
4. Final Result: The category-wise list of 41 recommended candidates was released on 27 October 2026.
