Important Eligibility Restriction: This recruitment is not open to all 10th or 12th pass candidates. Applicants must have completed the prescribed RCCC training and satisfied the official Survey and Settlement proficiency requirement before the specified cut-off.

Applicants must have passed the required RCCC training examination and possess the prescribed computer and typing skills.

Educational and Training Qualification

• Candidates must have completed the six-month Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) training at the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, Dakhingaon, Guwahati.
• They must have been declared proficient in both Survey and Settlement subjects through an official result declared by the Director of Land Records & Surveys etc., Assam.
• The proficiency requirement must have been fulfilled before the commencement of Government Notification No. LA&A/429557/158 dated 13 August 2026.

Computer Knowledge and Typing Requirements

Candidates must satisfy both the English typing requirement and the prescribed Assamese or Bengali typing requirement. These skills will also be assessed through the selection process.

The Land Record Assistant post carries a Pay Band-2 scale of Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 70,000, with Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200, along with allowances admissible under the rules of the Government of Assam.

Selection will be based on a 100-mark examination consisting of an 80-mark objective written test and a 20-mark practical computer skill test, followed by document verification.

Written Examination Pattern

The written examination will contain objective-type multiple-choice questions, with negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

Computer Skill Test

The 20-mark practical skill test will assess computer proficiency and typing ability in English and Assamese or Bengali. Candidates who qualify in the written examination and are shortlisted by the Selection Board will be called for this test.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

The final merit list will be prepared using the combined marks obtained in the written examination and skill test, subject to securing the prescribed minimum qualifying marks in both components and satisfying the eligibility requirements during document verification.
