About ISTC Personal Secretary (Trainee)

India Ship Technology Centre (ISTC) is a company incorporated under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India. The selection process for trainees involves an Objective Type Online Test, Descriptive Type Online Test, and Skill Test, with postings located at ISTC, Kochi.

Who Can Apply

Qualification

Pass in three years Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (other than fine arts/performing arts) or Commerce or Science or Computer Applications or Business Administration with minimum 75% of marks from a recognized university. Desirable: Proficiency in Computer Applications like SAP, MS Project, MS Office etc.

आवेदन करने के लिए किसी मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय से 75% अंक के साथ तीन साल की स्नातक डिग्री (आर्ट्स, कॉमर्स, साइंस, कंप्यूटर एप्लीकेशंस या बिजनेस एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन) जरूरी है। कंप्यूटर एप्लीकेशंस में प्रवीणता (जैसे SAP, MS Office) फायदेमंद होगी।

Age

The upper age limit prescribed shall not exceed 25 years as on 04 November 2026, i.e. applicants should be born on or after 05 November 2001. Age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) shall be as per Government of India Guidelines.

उम्र सीमा 4 नवंबर 2026 तक 25 वर्ष से अधिक नहीं होनी चाहिए, अर्थात आवेदक का जन्म 5 नवंबर 2001 या उसके बाद होना चाहिए। दिव्यांग उम्मीदवारों को केंद्र सरकार के नियमों के अनुसार आयु में छूट मिलेगी।

Reservation

Reservation benefits and age relaxations are applicable as per Government of India guidelines for eligible categories such as Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

आरक्षण और आयु में छूट सरकारी नियमों के अनुसार योग्य वर्गों जैसे दिव्यांगों को लागू होगी।

Stipend and Training Period

The period of training shall be for one year. The consolidated stipend during the first year of training will be ₹ 20,000 per month. Depending upon organisational requirements, availability of vacancies and individual performance, successful candidates may be considered for contractual posts for a maximum period of five years, extendable for a further period subject to organizational requirements and individual performance.

प्रशिक्षण की अवधि एक वर्ष है, जिसमें मासिक स्टाइपेंड ₹20,000 दिया जाएगा। प्रदर्शन और संगठन की आवश्यकता के अनुसार, सफल उम्मीदवारों को पाँच साल तक अनुबंधित पदों पर रखा जा सकता है।

How to Apply for ISTC Personal Secretary (Trainee)

1. Go to the website https://istcindia.org and navigate to Career page → ISTC.
2. Proceed to the link for online application consisting of Registration and Submission of application.
3. Ensure that all entries are correctly filled and required documents such as proof of age, qualification, caste, disability, passport size colour photograph, and signature are ready for uploading.
4. Complete the registration and submit the application online between 23 October 2026 and 04 November 2026.
5. Remit the application fee of ₹ 600/- using online payment options (Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking) if applicable. SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from application fee.
6. Retain a soft copy or printout of the online application containing the unique registration number generated by the system for future reference. Do not send printouts or documents by post to ISTC.

आवेदन करने के लिए ISTC की वेबसाइट पर 23 अक्टूबर से 4 नवंबर 2026 के बीच ऑनलाइन फॉर्म भरना होगा। आवेदन शुल्क ₹600 सामान्य वर्ग के लिए है, जबकि अनुसूचित जाति/जनजाति और दिव्यांग उम्मीदवार शुल्क से मुक्त हैं। आवेदन के बाद रजिस्ट्रेशन नंबर को सुरक्षित रखना जरूरी है।

Selection Process

The method of selection shall be through Objective Type Online test, Descriptive Type Online Test and Skill Test, with total marks for the tests being 100. The answer sheets of the Descriptive Test of only those candidates who are shortlisted based on marks in the objective type test in the order of merit shall be evaluated. A rank list shall be prepared based on aggregate marks secured in all tests. In case of a tie, marks scored in the Discipline part of the Objective Type Online Test shall determine the order, followed by seniority in age if a tie persists.

चयन तीन चरणों – ऑब्जेक्टिव ऑनलाइन टेस्ट, डिस्क्रिप्टिव टेस्ट और स्किल टेस्ट के आधार पर होगा। डिस्क्रिप्टिव टेस्ट केवल उन्हीं उम्मीदवारों का मूल्यांकन होगा जो ऑब्जेक्टिव टेस्ट में मेरिट के अनुसार शॉर्टलिस्ट होंगे। अंतिम रैंक सभी टेस्ट के कुल अंकों के आधार पर तय होगी। समान अंक होने पर ऑब्जेक्टिव टेस्ट के विषय विशेष के अंक और फिर आयु के अनुसार क्रम निर्धारित होगा।
