A walk-in interview for the position of Young Professional (One Post) under the Farm Forward, USA funded research project on “Participatory assessment of context specific livestock extension model promoting sustainable livestock farming at Nilgiri district” is scheduled to be held on 05.11.2026 (Thursday) 10:00 AM at the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Udumalpet. The duration of engagement is for ten months with a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 30,000/- per month. No House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be paid.

The engagement is tied to a Farm Forward, USA funded research project focused on participatory assessment of context-specific livestock extension models in the Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu. The selected candidate will be engaged on a temporary basis for a period of ten months.

Posts and Eligibility

पद केवल एक है और उम्मीदवारों की योग्यता मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय से पशु चिकित्सा, कृषि, अर्थशास्त्र, सामाजिक कार्य, जीवविज्ञान या रसायन विज्ञान में स्नातक होनी चाहिए। वेतन मासिक 30,000 रुपये है।

Desired / Preferred qualifications:

• Postgraduate degree in Veterinary Sciences/ Agricultural Sciences / Biological / Chemistry or a related discipline from a recognized university or equivalent institution
• Research experience in the design, organization and execution of data collection in dairy / livestock farming
• Experience in community engagement and mobilization of farmers for stakeholder meetings / field demonstrations / outreach programmes
• Exposure in organising and conducting field survey and sample drawing works
• Proficiency in research data management and statistical analysis, along with computer skills

नौकरी में नीलगिरी जिले के किसानों और पशुओं से डाटा इकट्ठा करना, रिकॉर्ड रखना, विश्लेषण करना, रिपोर्ट बनाना और फील्ड में किसानों के साथ कार्यशालाओं का आयोजन करना शामिल है। उम्मीदवार को अक्सर यात्रा करनी होगी।

The minimum age will be 21 years and maximum 45 years with relaxation as per rules.

What Happens on the Day

Reporting time is 9:00 A.M., and candidates will not be allowed after the start of the written test. A written test will be conducted for a duration of 30 minutes with maximum of 30 marks. The syllabus includes data collection techniques and tribal sociology, etc. A minimum mark to be secured for attending the interview is 50 %. The pattern will be multiple choice questions. The medium of selection process in English. The candidate will be also evaluated for computer skills with maximum of five marks followed by an interview will be conducted.

उम्मीदवार सुबह 9 बजे तक पहुंचें, क्योंकि इसके बाद प्रवेश बंद हो जाएगा। 30 मिनट की लिखित परीक्षा होगी जिसमें 30 अंक होंगे और न्यूनतम 50% अंक लाना आवश्यक है। परीक्षा में डेटा संग्रह तकनीक और जनजातीय समाजशास्त्र शामिल हैं। अंग्रेजी में प्रश्न होंगे। इसके बाद कंप्यूटर कौशल की जांच और साक्षात्कार होंगे।

Important Instructions

• No TA / DA will be paid for attending the interview. The candidates have to make their own arrangements for transport, boarding and lodging etc.
• Individual communication will not be sent to any candidate for attending interview.
• Selection Procedure: The selection will be based on marks scored in the written test, educational qualifications – both essential and desirable qualifications, research / work experience, additional skills, recognitions, and performance in the interview.
• Applicants should submit “No Objection Certificate” if already employed. Candidates should ensure their eligibility for the position before applying. Documentary evidence to be produced for all claims made in the application form. Any request with respect to change of date / time of interview will not be entertained.
• The appointment is made purely on temporary basis and the individuals shouldn’t claim any University (TANUVAS) service later.
• The decision of the Selection Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, work experience, acceptance or rejection of application will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained from any individual.
• After announcement of the results, the candidate should join the post immediately. No extension of joining time will be allowed. If a candidate fails to join in stipulated time, the next candidate in the merit list will be called for joining the post. The individuals have to make own arrangements with respect to boarding and lodging after joining the post.
• A medical fitness certificate has to be produced at the time of joining the said post.
• A valid driving license for driving two-wheeler is must at the time of joining the said post.
• The individual has to give prior intimation of 30 days before leaving the job.

इंटरव्यू के लिए कोई TA/DA नहीं दिया जाएगा और उम्मीदवारों को अपनी यात्रा और ठहरने की व्यवस्था खुद करनी होगी। चयन लिखित परीक्षा, योग्यता, अनुभव और साक्षात्कार के आधार पर होगा। यदि उम्मीदवार पहले से नौकरी में हैं तो नो ऑब्जेक्शन सर्टिफिकेट देना होगा। चयन अस्थायी है और विश्वविद्यालय में स्थायी सेवा का दावा नहीं किया जा सकता। परिणाम घोषित होते ही तुरंत ज्वाइन करना होगा, विलंब की अनुमति नहीं। ज्वाइनिंग के समय मेडिकल फिटनेस सर्टिफिकेट और टू-व्हीलर ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस अनिवार्य है। नौकरी छोड़ने के लिए 30 दिन पहले सूचना देना आवश्यक है।
