Applications are invited for the post of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under the Indo-Swiss Joint Research Project titled “Ice nucleating particles and cloud condensation nuclei properties in the North-Western Himalayas (ICE-CRUNCH)” at the Central University of Jammu. Funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), the post offers a consolidated monthly fellowship of Rs. 37,000 + 8% HRA for JRF and Rs. 42,000 + 8% HRA for SRF, with an essential qualification of an M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences / Atmospheric Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks and NET/GATE Examination Qualified for JRF, and qualification prescribed for JRF with two years of research experience for SRF. The Central University of Jammu, located at Rahya-Suchani, (Bagla), Distt. Samba, Jammu & Kashmir- 181143, is conducting recruitment for an Indo-Swiss Joint Research Project in collaboration with ETH Zurich, Switzerland. The project presents a unique opportunity to study aerosol properties over a high-altitude site in Jammu region.

यह भर्ती केंद्र विश्वविद्यालय जम्मू द्वारा स्विट्जरलैंड के ETH Zurich के साथ मिलकर चलाए जा रहे एक अनूठे शोध परियोजना के लिए है, जो जम्मू के उच्च-altitude क्षेत्र में वायुमंडलीय कणों का अध्ययन करेगी।

Who Can Apply

Candidates must fulfill the essential qualifications specified for the respective post:

• For JRF: M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences / Atmospheric Sciences with a minimum of 55% marks and NET/GATE Examination Qualified.
• For SRF: Qualification prescribed for JRF with two years of research experience.
• Desirable Qualification: The candidate having in-depth knowledge of aerosol measurement techniques and data analysis using MATLAB, Python or similar software / languages will be given preference. For SRF: Publication of at least one paper in a peer reviewed SCI indexed journal in the relevant field.

Pay and Tenure

The post will be filled up purely on contract basis for one year or completion of the project whichever is earlier. Candidates will have no right to claim any regular appointment. The consolidated monthly fellowship is JRF: Rs. 37,000 + 8% HRA and SRF: Rs. 42,000 + 8% HRA.

Selection and Interview

The candidate will be shortlisted for the interview based on merit and will be informed via e-mail. Mere fulfilling the minimum qualifications will not entitle the candidate for being called for an interview. The decision of the selection committee will be final in this regard. Candidates shortlisted for interview should appear in person with originals of degree certificates (one set of self-attested photocopies) and a proof for date of birth (Class 10th Certificate) along with any other relevant information (e.g. experience certificate, copies of publications if any, awards, recommendations letters, etc.). No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.
