Who Can Apply

The notice gives one essential qualification for the IIT Indore Research Associate (RA) post. Candidates need all of the following:

• A postgraduate degree in Linguistics/ Applied Linguistics/ Computational Linguistics/ Digital Humanities/ Computer Science/ Data Science/ or an allied discipline, with 55% minimum.
• NET/M.Phil./ Ph.D.
• Two years of research experience as a Research Assistant in any Project.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python, R, statistical/empirical data analysis (SPSS), NLP tools, web technologies (HTML, CSS/SASS/SCSS, JavaScript), and research-oriented academic/technical writing.

Age limit: 35 years, as printed in the notice. The notice does not give a date for working out age, and it does not mention any age relaxation.

Pay and Tenure

The monthly pay is Rs. 47,000/- (Consolidated) as per ICSSR norms. The project post runs for five months and can be extended, subject to review. The selected candidate is expected to join the project by the second week of November 2026. According to the notice, the appointment is purely temporary.

The Research Associate will work on the computational, empirical and digital parts of the research project. The focus is on turning linguistic datasets into research outputs and accessible digital resources. The duties listed in the notice are:

• Working with large text and speech datasets.
• Developing data-processing workflows.
• Applying quantitative and empirical methods for linguistic analysis.
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of user-friendly web interfaces, dashboards and data-visualization platforms for presenting linguistic research findings.
• Cleaning, structuring, processing and analysing linguistic data using computational tools.
• Developing reproducible workflows and data pipelines.
• Applying statistical methods to investigate research questions.

Selection and Interview
