IPR Eligibility Criteria 2026

The eligibility of all candidates in all respects including age and qualification is determined with reference to 16-11-2026. Only Indian Nationals need to apply.

• All qualifications must be from UGC recognized Indian Universities / AICTE approved Institute or Board only. Applicants with qualifications from foreign countries must submit an equivalency certificate from UGC / AIU.
• For the Project Scientific Assistant posts, only candidates holding a three-year Diploma will be considered.
• Candidates possessing higher qualification than the ONE prescribed for Post Code 01 & 02 will be treated as over qualified for the advertised post and will not be screened in.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation is admissible to SC / ST / OBC / PwBD / Ex-servicemen candidates as per Government of India orders on the subject from time to time.

IPR Salary 2026

In addition to the remuneration mentioned above, Medical Scheme facility under Contributory Health Service Scheme – CHSS facility (self only) is admissible, and necessary deductions will be made every month from salary/remuneration as per IPR CHSS rules. The official notification does not mention the in-hand salary.

Application fee must be paid through online mode only via SBI Collect. Candidates claiming fee exemption must submit the relevant certificate, failing which their candidature will not be considered. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance nor held in reserve.

The selection process comprises the following stages:

• Scrutiny of online applications based on age, educational qualification, category certificate, fee receipt, and other criteria.
• For Project Scientific Officer & Project Scientific Assistant (Post Code 01 & 02): Selection is solely based upon performance in personal interview. A written test may be conducted for screening purpose only, if required.
• For Project Administrative Staff (Post Code 03): Selection is based on written test and computer skill test.

IPR Important Instructions

• All positions are purely temporary in nature and shall be for a maximum period of three (3) years. The engagement automatically ceases upon expiry of tenure, conferring no right/claim for regular appointment.
• Performance will be reviewed at the end of each year; if found unsatisfactory, appointment may be discontinued.
• Selected candidates will be required to work at Institute for Plasma Research, Bhat, Gandhinagar, Gujarat or its laboratories at GIDC, Sector – 25, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
• Candidates possessing higher qualification than the ONE prescribed for Post Code 01 & 02 will be treated as over qualified and will not be screened in.
• If an applicant submits multiple applications, the application with the higher “Application ID Number” (latest one) will be considered.
• The written test and / or interview will be conducted in Ahmedabad / Gandhinagar, Gujarat. No TA shall be paid to attend.
• The number of vacancies indicated is provisional and may increase or decrease depending upon actual requirements.
• A wait list of candidates in order of merit will remain valid and operative for one (1) year from the date of final result declaration.
• Addendum / deletion / corrigendum (if any) shall be posted on the Institute’s website only at https://www.ipr.res.in/opportunities/current-opening-recruitment.
• Records of candidates who are not selected shall be preserved only for a period of one year from the date of publication of the list of selected candidates.
