यह परीक्षा बिहार विद्यालय परीक्षा समिति द्वारा आयोजित की जाती है और इसका मकसद स्कूल लाइब्रेरियन बनने के लिए पात्रता प्रमाणपत्र जारी करना है। आवेदन केवल ऑनलाइन स्वीकार किए जाते हैं और परीक्षा कम्प्यूटर आधारित होती है।

आवेदन 1 अक्टूबर से 21 अक्टूबर 2026 तक ऑनलाइन दिए जा सकते हैं। परीक्षा की तारीख अभी घोषित नहीं हुई है और यह कई सत्रों में हो सकती है, इसलिए आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर अपडेट्स पर ध्यान देना जरूरी है।

• The applicant must be a citizen of India and a resident of Bihar
• Educational qualification: a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science from a recognised university, with at least 45% marks (or equivalent grade), as prescribed under the Bihar School Librarian Rules, 2025
• A relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks is available to reserved/special categories as stated in the notice (see note below)
• Minimum age: 21 years as on 01.08.2026

उम्मीदवार भारत के नागरिक और बिहार के निवासी होने चाहिए, साथ ही मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय से लाइब्रेरी साइंस में स्नातक डिग्री कम से कम 45% अंकों के साथ होनी चाहिए। आरक्षित वर्गों के लिए 5% अंक छूट भी दी गई है।

Age Relaxation

• Persons with Disabilities (Divyang): 10 years’ relaxation in the upper age limit, as per General Administration Department Resolution No. 962 dated 22.01.2021
• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years plus the length of service rendered in the defence services, provided the candidate’s actual age at the time of application does not exceed 57 years

आयु सीमा वर्ग के अनुसार अलग-अलग है, जैसे सामान्य पुरुष के लिए अधिकतम 37 वर्ष और अनुसूचित जाति/जनजाति के लिए 42 वर्ष। दिव्यांगों को 10 साल और पूर्व सैनिकों को सेवा अवधि के अनुसार छूट मिलती है।

BSEB School Librarian Eligibility Test 2026 Exam Pattern & Qualifying Marks

The eligibility test is a single-stage CBT. There is no interview.

Exam Pattern

• All questions are multiple-choice (objective) type
• Each question carries 1 mark
• No negative marking
• Duration: 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes), Computer Based Test

Qualifying Marks (Category-wise)

Normalization

Because the CBT may be held in multiple sessions on different dates, question difficulty can differ between sessions. BSEB will therefore apply a normalization process: each candidate’s raw score is converted into a normalised score, and the qualifying marks above are applied to the normalised score, not the raw score. The notice explains the method with a worked example; candidates can read it in the official notice.

Certificate

Candidates who qualify the School Librarian Eligibility Test 2026 will be issued an eligibility certificate.

परीक्षा में लाइब्रेरी साइंस के 100 और सामान्य ज्ञान के 50 अंक होते हैं, कुल 150 अंक। सभी प्रश्न MCQ हैं और कोई नकारात्मक अंकन नहीं है। परीक्षा के अंक सामान्यीकृत किए जाते हैं ताकि विभिन्न सत्रों की कठिनाई समान हो। पास होने पर पात्रता प्रमाणपत्र दिया जाता है।

How to Apply for BSEB School Librarian Eligibility Test 2026

1. Visit the official portal https://sletregistration.cbrt.co.in.
2. Registration: open the Registration page, enter the required details, and generate an OTP. A User ID and Password will be sent to your registered mobile number/e-mail.
3. Form filling: log in with the User ID and Password and fill the online application form, including personal and educational details.
4. Upload photograph and signature: upload a recent colour photograph and your signature in the prescribed size and format.
5. Upload documents: upload the required certificates (see Documents Required below).
6. Preview: click “Preview” and check every detail before final submission.
7. Payment: pay the exam fee online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
8. Submit the application and keep a printout of the confirmed form and payment receipt.

Exam Fee

आवेदन केवल ऑनलाइन स्वीकार किए जाते हैं और इसके लिए आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर जाकर रजिस्ट्रेशन, फॉर्म भरना, फोटो और दस्तावेज अपलोड करना आवश्यक है। फीस सामान्य/पीछड़े वर्ग के लिए ₹960 और SC/ST/दिव्यांग के लिए ₹760 है। फॉर्म जमा करने से पहले सभी जानकारियां सही भरना जरूरी है क्योंकि बाद में सुधार संभव नहीं होगा।

• Matriculation (10th) certificate and mark sheet (as proof of date of birth)
• Intermediate (12th) certificate and mark sheet
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science – certificate and mark sheets
• Residential (domicile) certificate issued by the competent authority (Bihar resident)
• Caste certificate issued by the competent authority (SC/ST candidates)
• Caste certificate with a non-creamy-layer certificate (Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class candidates)
• Disability certificate issued by the competent authority (Divyang candidates)
• Ex-serviceman document, for candidates claiming age relaxation
• Recent colour photograph and signature

आवेदन के लिए जन्मतिथि, शिक्षा, आवासीय प्रमाण, जाति प्रमाणपत्र, दिव्यांगता प्रमाणपत्र और यदि लागू हो तो पूर्व सैनिक दस्तावेज जैसे महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेज जमा करने होते हैं। विवाहित महिला आरक्षण के लिए विशेष प्रमाणपत्र की जरूरत होती है।

Important Conditions

• Applications are accepted only through the online mode; applications through any other mode will not be accepted
• The candidate is responsible for the correctness of all details entered; entries and uploaded documents found wrong or false at any stage can lead to cancellation of candidature
• The exam fee once paid will not be refunded; an application without the exam fee is treated as incomplete and rejected
• After final submission, no claim for correcting an error in the application will be entertained
• Candidates should keep their own valid mobile number and e-mail ID active, as the User ID/Password and communications are sent there
• Candidates should keep a printout of the confirmed application and payment receipt for future reference
• The CBT may be held in more than one session; results are prepared using the normalization process
• Candidate details, category and other entries once submitted are treated as final for the eligibility test
• In case of any discrepancy on any point in the notice, the decision/order of the Education Department, Government of Bihar, will prevail
