Qualification

RITES Engineer Recruitment 2026 requires candidates to hold either:

• Full-time Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering with UT Level-2 Certificate (ASNT/ISNT), or
• Full-time Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering with UT Level-2 Certificate (ASNT/ISNT)

The Diploma/Degree must be recognized by BTE/AICTE, or a university incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India, or an institution established under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. Institution of Engineers (India) Sections A & B exams are also accepted as equivalent to Degree.

Marks Criteria:

• UR/EWS candidates (and SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD applying against unreserved posts) must have first-class degree or minimum 60% marks.
• Reserved category candidates applying against reserved posts need at least 50% marks.
• CGPA/DGPA conversion formula or authorized undertaking required if marksheet lacks percentage/class.

Experience Requirement:

• Diploma holders: Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience
• Degree holders: Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience

Preference given to candidates with NDT experience. Training, internship, teaching, fellowship, or PhD research do not count as experience.

Age Limit

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC-NCL: 3 years
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years in addition to category relaxation, subject to post suitability

PwBD candidates must have at least 40% relevant disability and meet physical and functional criteria.

Selection for RITES Engineer (UT Testing) post is through:

• Interview carrying 100% weightage, divided into:
  • Technical & Professional proficiency - 65%

Minimum qualifying marks in interview: 60% for UR/EWS, 50% for reserved category candidates applying against reserved posts.

RITES may shortlist candidates and conduct written tests or document verification if required. Interview language options: Hindi or English.
